I love teaching children and young people how to play the piano. It’s amazing to see how much progress that can be made even in one year. Children can go from not being able to read a note of music, to reading music and playing a couple of small but complex pieces by the end of the year. The relationship with the student is very important, being able to encourage and interact well with each individual, to bring out the best in them.
I teach in your home, so there is no need to waste time travelling to a class. Beginner and intermediate students can easily learn and practice on a good keyboard, before you decide to invest in a piano.
If a student would like a more formal education in music I can enroll, and prepare them for ABRSM exams.
For journeys of more than 15 minutes by bike I charge a supplement.

About Me

I am an Irish, native English speaker. However I grew up in Italy and Spain (with Irish parents), and so I have also seen what it is like for people to learn English as a foreign language. I have taught children and teenagers English for the last 4 years, and really enjoy seeing them progress and get more confident in their conversational skills.

Looking for a piano teacher? In Utrecht you will find the friendly Spanish professional pianist Mar. She lives in Utrecht and studies at the Rotterdam Codarts Conservatory of Music, and has already a master's degree from the Utrecht Conservatory (with pedagogical training as well)
She teaches in English, Spanish, Italian, German and soon in Dutch. Lessons can take place at your place or at my place (in the centre of Utrecht) as I have a beautiful grand piano at my disposal. For young, teenagers and adults, all levels, no previous experience necessary.

For about 14 years I have studied various aspects of music, I’ve studied piano, vocals and composition, and now I am studying piano in the jazz and pop course. Not only have I played lots of jazz and pop, I have played lots of classical, neo-soul and gospel, to me it’s important to be well versed in lots of genre’s. Hi! I’m Emily, a classically trained singer from Hong Kong, currently in my fourth year of the Bachelor’s programme in Voice at the Utrecht Conservatorium. With 8 years of vocal training and a strong love for performing, I’m passionate about helping others experience the joy of music.

I’ve been teaching for over 4 years, working with students from age 4 to adults, both individually and in small group settings. I also teach music classes for children at an international school, and I specialize in creating engaging, age-appropriate lessons that build both skill and confidence.
