Hej!

I'm Marshall, an Australian violinist currently living and studying in Copenhagen. I have just started the second year of my Masters's degree at The Royal Danish Academy of Music studying with Elisabeth Schneider. Along with my studies, I am a casual violinist with the Aarhus & Göteborg Symphony Orchestras.

Prior to moving to Denmark I studied for my bachelor's degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music on a full scholarship and have participated in the Mozarteum International Summer Academy.

I have been teaching violin/viola since 2015 and in 2020-2021 I was employed by the West Australian Department of Education to teach violin/viola to primary school students. Each and every student is different, so I try and cater to their learning experience. Whether you're a complete beginner or already have experience with the violin/viola, I can help you with your musical journey. In each lesson, I focus on building a strong technical foundation, understanding music theory, and learning repertoire. I aim to make it a positive learning environment for both students & teachers. I have experience teaching beginners through to advanced students.

About Me
Marshall is quickly becoming one of Australia's emerging young violinists. Performing internationally as an award winning soloist, chamber musician & orchestral musician, Marshall is currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark where he is studying a Master of Music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with A/Professor Elisabeth Zeuthen Schneider.

Marshall has been teaching violin/viola since 2015 and in 2020-2021 and was employed by the West Australian Department of Education to teach violin/viola to primary school students. Marshall believes each and every student is different, so tries to cater their learning experience. Whether you're a complete beginner or already have experience with the violin/viola, he can help you with your musical journey. In each lesson I focus on building a strong technical foundation, understanding music theory and learning repertoire. I aim to make it a positive learning environment for both student & teacher. I have experience teaching beginners through to advanced students.

Born in Perth, Western Australia, Marshall began learning piano at the age of 7 and the violin at 8. He quickly took to the violin and was offered a specialist music scholarship to Churchlands Senior High School. During this time Marshall was part of the West Australian Youth Orchestra, WA Youth Chamber Music Program, awarded his Associate Diploma of Music from the AMEB and was concertmaster and soloist in the 2015 Churchlands European Music Tour. By the end of 2015 Marshall was awarded several prizes including top instrumental student & music dux.

Following high school Marshall began studying a Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Alice Waten. As a student at the Conservatorium he was awarded the Kathleen & Alison Short Scholarship for three consecutive years, and had the opportunity to perform throughout Australia and attend the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in 2019, studying with Barnabas Kelemann. Since graduating from the Conservatorium Marshall was awarded first prize at the Fremantle Concerto Competition, played in many public solo recitals, and was granted scholarships from the Cybec Foundation and the Eleanor Sophia Wood Travel Scholarship to pursue further study overseas.

Along with his studies Marshall is a casual violinist with the Aarhus, Göteborg & Helsingborg Symphony Orchestras.

Aleksandra
Aleksandra is a trained singer, singing teacher and choir conductor from the Academy of Music in Gdansk and Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona.

She took to the stage in her childhood and has been teaching music for the last 6 years.

For several years she was a chorister of the prestigious Polish National Youth Choir and leader of Vocal Quintet Solifonia. Currently, she is a choir conductor and the founder of CHOIR CLUB in Korskolen.

What can you expect from her teaching?

She believes that singing can be passion, a communication tool, a means of therapy and so much more: more than you can imagine!

In her classes, you will learn key vocal techniques as well as learning to understand your voice. You will discover the deeper meanings of the songs you sing as you seek to express them to the world.

As she is working towards becoming an Accredited Teacher of IVTOM (International Voice Teachers of Mix) she focuses on delivering teaching based on the Mix principles: by mixing the chest and head voice you receive the full benefits of “both voices”: the natural and powerful sound of the chest voice, and the beauty and range of the head voice. As a singer learns to sing using both of these resonances and trains the vocal folds to stay together, it is possible to vocalize smoothly and evenly from one register to the next. The relationship of the two elements working together will create an even, smooth vocalization and, as a result, eliminates the “breaks” in the voice.

She has a good knowledge of playing the piano, so you can sing along to her accompaniment or accompany yourself under her supervision.

What does the first lesson include?

You’ll talk about:
- your background and musical experience
- all the circumstances that can influence your sound production
- your needs, expectations and plans

You also find out:

- what your bad habits are
- how you can start your singing technique
- what kind of exercises will help you best achieve your singing goals

Who is welcome?

- Children (8+), adolescents and adults
- Singers of all kinds of popular music
- Students who want to learn hearing / rhythm theory
- Individuals, groups and families

Yvette
Have you been trying to teach yourself the guitar and still find it a pain to play? Or have you been taking lessons and still feel restricted and unhappy? Do not fear, Yvette (she/her) is here to help! With my classes, not only will you learn to play with ease, you will also be able to crack the code of music, so you will understand how notes, chords, rhythm and music theory relate to each other. You will no longer be simply playing through mindless memorization or repetition. You will also learn how to listen to yourself and recognize when you have played well, and when you have made mistakes.
Although I am classically trained, I started guitar playing rhythmic music, such as nirvana and the beatles, and I still have a deep understanding of the style and have taught it for years. I aim to teach guitar the right way, without taking short cuts that limit knowledge and development later on. I have a personalised approach to each student, refusing to force them to play exactly as I do, but helping them to refine their own innate technique. To that end, I create my own exercises for my students, compiling the best from the existing literature, and am working to creating my own guitar method book.

My experiences:
Graduate of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore
Bachelor Student at The Royal Danish Academy of Music

Performances at Bumzen Collective, Esplanade Recital Studio and Concourse and Lee Foundation Theatre and upcoming performances at Sankt Thomas Kirke and Raadvad Kro
