Singing is an incredible skill to have. Whether it is to improve confidence or to try and forge a career within the arts. I delve into the technique of singing and look at how acting through song can enhance a performance and indeed the sound of the voice. Every song has a story. From start to finish you want to colour the words and make them interesting.

I also want everyone to gain confidence in my lessons. Being confident is the first step in the world of vocal studies.

I tend to start my lesson with a substantial warm up just to make sure we are being safe when singing and warming up sufficiently. The next step to work through a song. Looking at how to improve the song. As we move through I tend to look at one subject per session for example how to use belt properly? Or how to add falsetto? Or pop inflections?

It all depends on the lesson itself.

About Me

I am a performer based in London. I have been teaching for around 3 years but have approximately 12 years in the Entertainment Industry. I have been lucky enough to have untaken UK tours and performed in some stunning hotels in the UK and abroad. I love music and singing and believe everyone can sing when given the opportunity.

Education

i studied at the Kent Stage Academy of Performing Arts on a foundation musical theatre course before moving to Canterbury Christchurch to complete my degree in Performing Arts BA (Hons). I have then spent time in private settings going to classes to improve my voice and knowledge of the voice and vocal technique.

Award-winning soprano Kayleigh offers fun and engaging singing lessons in the classical and musical theatre styles.

Kayleigh is a highly sought after singer, performing all over the world. She has sung on stages in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Marrakesh and Ireland. She holds both an undergraduate and a masters degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in classical singing. Prior to this she studied at Mountview Academy in Musical Theatre and has worked equally in both genres.

Kayleigh has been teaching for over ten years and values this side of her portfolio career. She loves working with children and currently holds a teaching position at a school. In her 1:1 teaching, she enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels. Her pedagogy implements techniques she has developed by working with world-renowned musicians such as Janice Chapman, Edith Wiens, and Graham Johnson.

My main job as an Acting Tutor is to spark your imagination and guide you, at your own pace, to a place where you can take ownership over both your craft as a performer AND your own self-expression as an individual.

My teaching practise is about meeting the individual needs of the student:

• If you are someone with the ambition of going to Drama School or pursuing a career as an Actor - I have a programme that I can provide you with that will give you the best possible chance of getting you to the next stage in your career.

• Similarly, if you are a child/teenager/adult who is looking to gain Performance qualifications with the LAMDA Exam Board - I have 3 years experience in preparing students for the Acting, Verse & Prose and Public Speaking Exams that LAMDA offer and would be able to guide you through fulfilling your potential in these exams.

• Equally, if you are someone who just wants to feel you can articulate yourself more confidently in everyday and professional life - I am also qualified to provide you with skills and techniques to support you in making that possible.

Fundamentally, my lessons are tailor made to ensure the needs of the individual are prioritised above all else. I therefore have varying tutoring programmes depending on what it is you want to get out of the sessions.

Methodology:

My teaching is rooted in the belief that Playing is the most effective way of Working. I employ techniques used by Konstantin Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, Jerzy Grotowski, Patsy Rodenburg, Rudolf Laban and many other practitioners to provide you with a diverse tool-kit that you can take ownership of and use in a way that suits you.

Regardless of what you want to get of the sessions, these 5 main areas of focus remain as a constant at the bedrock my practise in order to ensure a rounded and cohesive training. They are as follows:

For those who have already been learning and are looking to resume their studies, I will facilitate a seamless and supportive transition. I will work closely with you to gain a thorough understanding of your needs and ensure the most effective path forward.

If you are interested in having both singing and piano lessons, you can have an hour lesson comprising of half singing and half piano.

I have over 10 years of experience in preparing students for exam grades, and work with the ABRSM syllabus and the Trinity syllabus. My students have a 100% pass rate, with the majority achieving a Merit or Distinction.

I am Teacher Agnes. I have been teaching piano for 22 years. I specialize in teaching piano and piano theory courses. I worked as a piano teacher in a school in Hong Kong five years ago and have a good communication relationship with students.
