Ciao! I am a native Italian and English speaker and I have been teaching teenagers and adults in the last ten years. A History, Cultural Heritage and Chemistry graduate, I am especially passionate about linguistics and different cultures! Our conversation lessons will help you learn and practice your Italian, whether you are a beginner or want to perfect the language. Topics will be tailored to your needs and can range from basic scenarios to more specific ones (professional, travel or cultural context). When necessary we can focus on specific grammar rules and expand vocabulary that is more important to you. I am a native Spanish speaker from Canary Islands, Spain. I am really passionate about literature and I've always been really good at linguistics. In this course we will begin with an intake interview in which I assess your level and discuss your needs. Following this, I will develop a course to meet your aims. Everybody's wishes are different. As a highly qualified and vastly experienced teacher I have the necessary skills to be able to draw up a course and find the appropriate resources to aid your progress. During the course you will get the practice, feedback and guidance needed to improve your English level. At the end of each lesson I will give you homework so that you can continue your practice between sessions and at the beginning of the next lesson I will check your homework with you to make sure you are keeping on track! Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
