Does your child dance around when listening to music and pretend they're playing a musical instrument? -Are you an intermediate or advanced pianist who needs some support with your exams or learning new pieces? -Or perhaps have you wanted to learn the piano as a child but never tried? Or did you have lessons as a child and stopped because someone told you you're not talented enough and you have now regretted stopping?! I'm here for you! I'm a qualified piano teacher with over 7 years of experience. I provide easy to follow and joyful lessons for beginners and advanced students. I have experience in ABRSM exams and I'm happy to prepare you. I am applying the Russian piano technique, as I myself have been taught by my Russian teacher who studied at the Tchaikovsky conservatoire. I understand that not everyone enjoys strict teaching, thus I am flexible enough and can adapt according to my student's needs! I'm also here for you to teach you how to play the piano and enjoy your music! If you're not into classical music, I can also teach you how to play pop/rock covers and soundtracks P.S. I normally live in London and can travel to student's houses. However, due to the current CoVid-19 situation, I can only provide online lessons until further notice.

Hi, my name is Dave. I'm a Musician, Composer, Guitar, Piano & Bass tutor with over 15 years experience. After receiving a degree in Jazz and Contemporary music, I was privileged to enjoy a fruitful career not only as a music teacher but also as a full time composer and performer, both live and in the studio. Music which I composed, performed and recorded was screened in over 25 film festivals worldwide. One of my films, called “Crumble”, is starring Amanda Hale and was selected for BAFTA, won the Silver Remi Award at the 50th Worldfest Houston Film Festival (USA) and was the Official Selection of the 17th East End Film Festival (London). The learning plan is custom tailored for each and every student, while taking into account the student's current level and musical taste. We'll be working with official sheet music directly from the artist and original studio tracks from the songs you love.

Whether you wish to study Piano, Music Theory or Composition, my teaching approach is anchored on understanding how music is made. Why? Because unpicking your favourite music and discovering the fundamental musical laws behind it is the best way to learn how to absorb, memorise and ultimately perform it or, if you're a composer, to find inspiration for your own music. In our first class we will discuss your main areas of interest and musical ambitions. Based on these we will make a plan to help you pursue and achieve them. My main areas of specialism are classical and contemporary classical music. I can also teach students with an interest in jazz, popular music and songwriting. Over the last eight years, I have taught more than one hundred students of all ages and abilities. If you have a passion for piano or composition, or would simply like to know more about how music is made, I would love to hear from you.

I specialize in teaching music theory and piano, especially for songwriters, drawing from my background of classical piano, my MA in songwriting, and my career as a published singer/songwriter. I assign creative exercises as homework, and I try to not let any question unanswered! For instrumentalists, we will look at the piano and some of its different techniques - classical, jazz, accompanying yourself, with focus on what the student actually wants to learn. For songwriters, we will go through music theory basics, and then basic harmony until we will be able to construct own our songs.
