“One person and a piano are all you need to create a world.” – Chia-Chen – Pianist, composer, piano improvisation artist, music educator “When the world outside becomes loud and restless, every note played becomes a protective net – and every pause a place of quiet security. In music we encounter a silent, infinite love. In my classes I invite you to discover this world: full of deep love, creativity and expression. Together we will walk the path on which you yourself will become a creator.” ___________________________________________________ Professional piano lessons in Berlin & online: I offer professional piano lessons for talented young people, university preparatory students, and motivated learners who want to bring their piano playing to a professional level – individually tailored to your abilities and goals. Julius - ReinickendorfC$100
Trusted teacher: (German version further down) I enjoy teaching because it requires a deeper knowledge of the material than if one is only performing music. I am continuously learning too. I do not think that it is important how old you are or in what environment you grew up. To engage with music as a result of learning an instrument can bring your brain into a healthy state of ongoing change. People who are "without any talent" for music do not exist. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I can teach piano: - involving sheet music or not, depending on what you prefer. - or/and music theory lessons - or/and improvisation - or/and Jazz - or/and Ear Training - or/and Composition. The lessons can be held in English or German or a mixture of both. I teach close to Friedrichstraße in Berlin. The lessons can be done via Skype too. You can read about me as a performing musician here: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer, graduated from the University of Arts Berne in Switzerland in 2017 with honors. In July 2019 he finished his Masters in the European Jazz Masters Program through the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with exchange semesters in Berlin and Amsterdam. Throughout his studies, he was lucky enough to receive artistic guidance from Colin Vallon, Django Bates, Harmen Fraanje, Simon Toldam, Peter Bruun, Greg Cohen, and Michael Moore. Julius was granted a scholarship by Lyra Stiftung Zürich in 2015 and 2016. Tours with his own bands have been supported by different fundings from Switzerland and Germany. He performed all across Europe during the past years. German: When teaching, it's important to have a deeper understanding of everything than when "just" making music. I'm always learning as a teacher. It doesn't matter how old you are or whether you grew up in a music-rich or music-poor environment. Engaging with music can put our brains into a healthy state of constant change and growth. There are no people who are "talentedless" when it comes to music. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I offer lessons with or without sheet music, depending on your preference. If you're interested, I also teach music theory, improvisation, jazz, ear training, and composition. Classes are held in German or English, or a mixture of both. I teach near Friedrichstrasse in Berlin. Classes can also be held via Skype. Here is an insight into my musical work: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer working in the fields of jazz and improvised music. He completed his bachelor's degree at the Bern University of the Arts in 2017 with distinction. In July 2019, he completed the European Jazz Masters at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, with exchange semesters at the Jazz Institute Berlin and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2015 and 2016, he received a scholarship from the Lyra Foundation in Zurich. His bands' tours have been regularly supported by German and Swiss foundations in recent years. Julius has played concerts all over Europe in recent years.

Trusted teacher: If you are one of these people, then you've come to the right place: * Beginners, children or adults * People with poor piano experience or “stuck” players * Parents who want their children to learn music like a language and develop focus and calmness in the process * Music lovers, musicians or fans of certain styles who want to play creatively themselves Then you've come to the right place. I have been a musician since childhood and play the piano. I have been working as a piano teacher for 5 years. I am also an architect and multidisciplinary artist, exploring the connection between sound and visual art. The lessons focus on piano practice, reading music and a better understanding of music – using methods such as Piano Adventures, Alfred and other modern textbooks. After about 5 months, many of my students see a clear difference in their playing, understanding, and self-confidence. ✨ Suitable for children, beginners and anyone who wants to learn piano in a modern and enjoyable way. For me, music is not a theory, but a language that one lives. Music should be learned and treated like a language. Listening, reading (music), writing and playing. The goal is for you to eventually "speak" music naturally, without thinking too much. Feel free to write to me if you want to know more about my teaching or how I teach music like a second language. Other programs (feel free to ask for details at any time – I'll send you all the information): • Program for musical culture and listening comprehension for children and adult artists • Program: Piano lessons and music reading for all age groups • Basic music theory program for beginners and musicians • Program “Sight-reading” (direct reading and playing of music) Karam Berlin, Friedrichshain

I’m so lucky that I was able to have lessons with Jack during my time in Berlin! He creates such a supportive environment for learning — laid back and calm, yet totally professional. After years of me struggling independently with a few pieces, he was able to show me new ways of approaching the music that transformed even the hardest parts into something accessible. He has a lovely and genuine way of offering encouragement / recognizing progress, while still keeping track of the underlying objective; a more far-reaching arc of improvement. I like how he remembers this larger perspective from week to week (especially when I forget), and finds ways to expertly weave the end goal into incremental, manageable steps. I have learned so much from the tools and techniques he’s shared with me, and am grateful to have enjoyed his teaching.

Javier is an incredible teacher! He is not just teaching me piano, but really helping me to understand how music is structured and the reasons behind compositional choices. A very generous and experienced teacher, who is dedicated to broadening my music horizons and improving my playing freedom. I can highly recommend him, especially for intermediate players like myself who feel a bit lost and are looking for structure and direction.
