With over 6 years of teaching with a range of ages and abilities, I have a very well rounded knowledge of the guitar. I've previously guided students through 'Rockschool' grades whilst teaching at Yamaha so I am very familiar with their grading criteria, but I also deliver lessons for students that purely want to learn their favourite bands/artists songs. My lessons will predominately be remote due to current circumstances but the sound quality will be of the highest level for the best lesson experience possible. Hi there! I’m a guitarist and music educator based in NW London, where I teach all styles of guitar playing, improvisation, music theory, composition and arranging. My aim as a teacher is to help my students find their personal voice and to make them enjoy the most from playing and communicating through music. I started playing guitar 19 years ago. At 21 I became a full-time musician, playing mostly jazz, funk and Brazilian music in venues around Porto, Portugal. 5 years ago I moved to London and did a music BA at Middlesex University and a Master's at Guildhall School of music and drama. Now I’m based in London, where I lead my own projects, play with a jazz orchestra, a percussion ensemble and a few jazz and Latin music groups.

I regularly work as an adjudicator for McGill Conservatory exams, was a member of the national jury for CMC competition, performed recitals in Russia, Canada, France, China, Italy, Malta..., have my own Russian Music Festival and work as an artistic director for Pro Musica, the leading chamber music society in Montreal. I've got a long history with my band Streetlight Cadence, most notably I'm an Emmy-nominated Producer for our TV show Will Play For Food. We've toured everywhere, charted albums on Billboard and shared the stage with Nick Jonas, Pentatonix, Jason Mraz, Kenny Loggins and more! With over 15 years of experience teaching cello and piano in a range of settings from primary, secondary and prep schools, to music centres, private tuition and online, and having taught pupils from the ages of 5 to 65, I can find the strengths of a pupil, and improve any weaknesses, in technique, rhythm or intonation, and opening up the ability for expression and musicality. Using ABRSM grades as milestones, I cover all aspects of developing musicianship, as well as establishing and improving technique on the instrument. I am an experienced regularly performing professional cellist myself, and have many skills to support your learning and development as a musican, whatever your aims. I have a great rapport with my students, and love to see them progress and gain new skills and enjoyment as they learn.

I am a classically trained musician with teaching experience ranging from Early Years through to Senior School, both in the private and state sectors, in the UK and abroad (Spain, Egypt and Singapore). In most places I have taught the National Curriculum for England and have been the co-ordinator for music, teaching class and instrumental, arranging concerts, directing musical productions, playing for assemblies and fulfilling all the other roles required in leading the subject.
