Physics, Maths and Economics for students studying for IB, A level and GCSE examsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I am a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic teacher of physics, maths and economics. I have a PhD in Physics from the University of Glasgow, where I studied the sub-atomic and quantum effects of interactions between high intensity laser beams and aromatic molecules. I also have an M.Sci. degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow and an M.Sc. in Economic Management and Policy from the University of Strathclyde. I am also a UK qualified teacher with a PGCE from Nottingham University. Since qualifying as a secondary school teacher in 2014 I have taught at some of Europe’s most prestigious schools. Most of my current work involves teaching highly personalised lessons to students wishing to improve or excel at the IB, A Level or GCSE exams. I have also helped physics undergraduate students to improve both their theoretical knowledge and their experimental skills. Before becoming a full-time tutor I worked as a research scientist and, later, as a medical physicist. So I bring not only a strong passion for science and maths into my lessons but a practical, real-world context for the subjects. I help students achieve the highest possible grades by tackling their areas of difficulty and building their confidence. My aim is to ensure students understand the fundamental concepts in order to build knowledge and apply this in exams. My educational background: 1999-2002 Ph.D. Physics, University of Glasgow 1994-1998 M.Sci. Physics, University of Glasgow 2013-2014 PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), Nottingham University 2009-2012 M.Sc. Economic Management and Policy (distance learning), University of Strathclyde

- Private lessons in college mathematics - The courses take place as follows: 1 - Explanation of the interest of the course, by way of introduction: in college, it is not always easy to see the usefulness of the abstract mathematical notions that one learns. In this course, we will have a more concrete approach. 2 - Exhibition of the key concepts of the course: the most important knowledge is studied in the simplest way to ensure a good understanding. 3 - Presentation of techniques and tips: such tips can save the student time during exercises or checks. It will then be more effective. 4 - Application of the knowledge of the course in exercises: the student is accompanied throughout the reasoning process of the exercise. It is not a question of giving him the answers, but of making him understand the logic of the exercise and especially of training him, of making him practice reasoning so that he appropriates them. 5 - Assessment of essential knowledge: it is a question of making a list of the theorems, properties and calculation techniques to master in order to memorize them better. - At any of these stages, the student can ask questions. The answers will be simple and precise in order to clarify the course in the eyes of the student and to ensure optimal understanding. - If necessary, set up a memorization program so that the student can acquire the concepts more quickly. - Pedagogy adapted to the student according to his class (ex: 4th, 3rd ...), his pace of work and his motivation.
