My name is Lil, I'm an engineering student at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), currently on an academic exchange at KTH in Stockholm. I have a 5/6 average at EPFL (top 10% of my class) and obtained a baccalaureate with 17/20. I have significant teaching experience: I worked as a teaching assistant and tutor at EPFL in three different subjects (structural mechanics, computer science, and algorithms), where I regularly supported first-year students with their exercises and their overall understanding of the course concepts. This experience taught me to adapt my explanations to each student, to communicate very clearly, to be organized and reliable, and to create a reassuring and effective learning environment. Before that, I had already tutored middle school students in physics when I was in high school, which instilled in me a love of teaching from a very young age. My teaching method My priority isn't to have students memorize formulas, but to make concepts logical and intuitive. I always adapt to the student's level to pinpoint exactly where they're struggling, then work with them to rebuild a clear line of reasoning. The goal is for the student to become independent and gain confidence. I use simple explanations with concrete examples, diagrams, and visualizations, as well as progressive exercises to solidify understanding, and a genuine method for working and organizing. I also offer additional exercises and methodological advice so that the student can then work independently. My specific characteristics My experience as a teaching assistant at EPFL taught me to explain complex concepts in a very accessible way. I can quickly identify misunderstandings and suggest an alternative approach to the problem. I also emphasize methodology and intuition, which are often key to success in math and science. I offer support in: mathematics, physics, life and earth sciences (1st year), advanced mathematics. For primary, middle and high school levels. Courses can be held in person in Stockholm or via video conference.

Hello My lessons are aimed at those who strive for excellence in Maths. If your child already has a score above 16/20 and wants to improve, I believe I can help them. Inasmuch as : - Former prep school student, M' (now PM* I think) - Former student of a top 5 business school - Former private tutor in Maths (and Physics) for high school and preparatory school students, while I was a student - Still passionate about math, - Still passionate about teaching, with a very personal and unique style - father of 3 boys I would be happy to give lessons to your child, ideally at high school level. I am not a professional teacher, so I don't come with my own sets of exercises. I simply help the student by re-explaining the lesson in my own way, and by working through a few exercises (already done in class or in which he has difficulty, or new ones taken from his book). Through my work with my children (23, 16, and 12 years old), I've realized that children are finding it increasingly difficult to concentrate on understanding a lesson, its logic, the tools it gradually provides (theorems, definitions, etc.), and how to use them. They are less and less able to take notes and reflect by writing down their ideas. In my opinion, excellence lies in this. I'm not doing this just for the money. I'm truly passionate about the subject matter, about success, about teaching. So I accept that everyone pays what they can/want. I hope to see many of you soon. See you soon.
