About Me

Hello, I am passionate about music since I was 3 years old. I studied mainly in Ireland and Sweden. These last 10 years I have been teaching and giving performances across Europe.

Education

After classical studies in France, I went to study in Ireland with Werner Glad and Eamonn Rabitte and in Sweden with Kalle Amlöf. I graduated from AMP, ABRSM and GCC in Ireland, and from Malungs Folkhögskola in Sweden. Since then I have given performances, taught and participated in workshops (such as those of Con Tempo, Kevin Burke, Etno Histria, Labyrinth, and Jonny Soling) in several European countries. My teachers and the extraordinary friends I have met during all these years have been an incredible source of inspiration both in games and didactics.

Experience / Qualifications

I taught and gave workshops for several years. It seems to me most important when you learn to play an instrument and keep in mind the word "play". Learning is all the more effective when you have fun while learning. Thanks to this playful and educational approach, I have been able to observe enormous progress and overwhelming motivation among all my students.

Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁
I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,...
After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw!

Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc.
