I specialized in contemporary music composition in Bucharest, Birmingham and Paris having finished with honors my Bachelor, my Master and my Doctorate degree in this field. I also have a pedagogical degree and 2 years of experience in which I taught music composition, musical forms, poliphony, orchestration, music theory and solfege at the National University of Music from Bucharest. In 2022 I finished a 2nd Master's Degree in Film Music Composition at the ZHdK. This class is for both beginners who want to compose music as a hobby and to aspiring professional composers. The main topic of my doctoral thesis was the compositional idea and the processes involved in the creative undertakings. How does one reach the final stage of a composition from just a few ideas? How can we improve this endeavour? What strategies and techniques are needed in order to do that? The class will be customized for each student so in order to achieve a certain objective in music composition the lessons can include elements of music theory, harmony, poliphony, orchestration, improvisation, music notation (Finale & Dorico) and music production (StudioOne). Although solfege and improvisation are extremely useful (I dare say even indispensable) for a professional composer, they can also be means to an end for passionate music lovers. Solfege and strategies that come with it can help your singing and music sight reading. And improvisation is such a fun and relaxing activity that I think everybody should do it!

Flute lessons for you! Or maybe computer music? I am a professional flute player with an experience on competitions, auditions and concerts. I have a Master Degree in Orchestermusik with distinction at the Zurich University of Arts. I also have a Pedagogy Diploma and experience of three years teaching flute in a music school and 10-year experience in private lessons. Playing music for years had also made me develop love for computer music which I can also share with you or your child. We can develop a unique practice where you play your instrument and combine it with a software for more immersive experience ! My teaching experience comprises teaching adults as well as kids, for diverse levels of experience. With my background on theory and history of music I will help you to discover a wonderful world of music through playing the flute. I can also prepare you for concerts, competitions, auditions and exams, or boost your creativity using the software together with the instrument ! All ages and skill levels are welcome! I have used Logic Pro in professional contexts, recording and producing numerous recordings and have years of experience using this piece of software. I will explain the user interface (which can be daunting to new users,) in Logic and show how users can get the most out of this awesome piece of software in a relatively short time. This class would be useful for people who wish to learn to create and record their own music, music teachers who would like to expand their knowledge of music technology and apply it to the classroom and any other people for whom recording audio is a necessary component of their work.
