From my studio at the Berlagebrug, I give Piano lessons to beginners and (semi) advanced students. The lessons take place on a Yamaha wing and when a piece is well under control, we can make a professional recording of it. I graduated in 1992 as a musician from the Hilversum Conservatory (nowadays Conservatory of Amsterdam) in the direction of light music, or jazz and pop. So with me, you learn not only to read notes but also chord schemes and - if you want - improvisation. Or we search together for a song that you would like to play and make a nice adaptation of it. Together we first look at exactly what you want to learn and align the curriculum. I can also help you learn how to compose and produce. I work with Pro Tools and Logic Pro X. For classical Piano lessons, I would rather refer you to someone else.

The drumset is one of the most important and powerful instruments in a music ensemble. It does not only provide the rhythm and groove foundation for all the other instruments - it also defines the sound of the band, the character of the songs, the volume... just like an orchestra conductor. In these lessons (which are of course personalized and open depending on the interests of the student) we will work beyond the physical/mechanical aspect of the drums (technique, coordination, etc) into the musical aspect, so we will spend some time listening and analyzing music together, working on ear training and music theory from a practical point of view.

Music is a great way to express yourself and your feelings, it is an amazing tool to learn about your personality. As an art form, music has been around with us from ancient times. As a musician, you'll need to be able to know music theory and acquire technique. Through years of teaching I've developed a method of learning music in a practical and structured way, keeping the joy of making music as a main focus, as well as providing with all the necessary theoretical background. I teach music to all ages: my students currently are from 5 to 81 years old. And all levels: I have an individual approach for every student. You will learn how to play music, listen to music, compose your own music and more! The basic course takes you through all the elements you need to professionally write and produce music; with specialties ranging from record production to writing for media i.e. T.V and film. Mastering; The final stage of releasing music is making it sounds amazing on all systems. A course is tailor-made to suit the desire of the student - from recording and releasing your own music, to film audio post-production and sound design and everything else in-between. I have more than 30 years in the music industry, previously working at BBC Radio 1/1xtra station, and also at Jools Holland's Helicon Mountain studios in West London. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. The most important matter that I could write here about is my passion to teach. I've been teaching already for more than 10 years, from kids to adults. I'm a classical pianist, but I am opened to other musical styles.
