I am a Sound Art researcher who works in an established London gallery giving educational tours about art. My sessions would include; Set Design – How to read and analyze a script/story, what to look out for, and how to breakdown each scene. Creating visual research and mood boards and how to make clear initial sketches in whatever preferred medium, (pen, water colour Photoshop etc) An introduction to modelmaking, making basic furniture, and miniature rooms. Costume Design – Looking at costume history, how clothes have changed through the ages, and what shapes and silhouettes fit what eras. Costume drawings, looking at how to draw a clear design that could be understood by the whole creative team, as well as working with mixed media in costume design, ie. collage, photo shop. A look at costume making and sourcing, how I work as a designer when I am doing my own costumes, how I source, make or alter different items. Puppetry – An introduction to puppetry, the history and basic different types, marionette, bunraku etc. How to make your own bunraku puppet, all you would need is cardboard and gaffa tape. How to make shadow puppets out of card and straws, and how to rig a sheet and light so we can perform them.

This class is for those who want to learn the very basics of art skill in order to begin a creative journey. In this course, I will strive to teach you the fundamental skills that any artist needs to create beautiful art. This class focuses on accuracy and draftsmanship - being able to replicate images with confidence and clarity. In this class, we will focus on shape, line and form, and how to translate 3D images into a 2D space. You don’t need to have any prior knowledge of art - this class is designed to help complete beginners learn to draw. However, this class is tailored towards late teens or adults. I will show you how to create prints with a screen printing finish, without using a screen! This can be adapted to textiles if desired. Adapted block printing This lesson you will be learning a adapted version of block printing which is originally done with wood. Instead we will be creating our own blocks out of scrap materials which we will print on paper or fabric if you have any available. This can be adapted to textiles if desired. Adapted lino printing This lesson you will learn how lino print utilising old rubber materials such as hot water bottles, flooring. Mono printing This lesson you will learn how to create stunning mono prints with a range of materials. Relief and rub This lesson you will learn how to create relief prints, and rubbings of textures and surfaces on a wide range of materials. Mark me up (bonus) This lesson will be about getting you to experiment with every day materials and objects to create marks. We will cover the basic concepts of programming and go through the fundamentals to generate interactive art. From a background in teaching primary school and undergraduate students, I can accommodate creative coders at different levels of skill. Academic drawing is a discipline included in all types of visual arts studies. Knowledge of the basic principles of depicting objects in three dimensional space, and the rules of drawing three dimensional objects on a two dimensional plane are crucial for photographers, interior designers and those willing to paint. This course is specifically created for beginners with no previous experience drawing from nature. It consists of eight lessons that last two hours, during which students will develop practical skills of drawing simple objects from nature, get acquainted with the greatest artists, and learn to observe outdoors and nature.

Though many people have artistic talent, it's often just getting down and making it that people stumble over (I know I do!!) Having a degree is great (check) but actually making art is what fuels most artists' sense of themselves. I've worked with students who lacked motivation and through play and fun, get back into creativity.
