For a mechanical engineer, understanding dynamics is essential, both in scenarios where elements can be analyzed as particles and in cases where they must be studied as rigid bodies. For this reason, the study of dynamics is fundamental. Additionally, mastering fluid mechanics is crucial, including understanding their properties and the physics governing them. This is achieved through the study of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, disciplines that enable the analysis, interpretation, and practical application of these concepts. I primarily teach these three subjects, as they are the ones I have the most knowledge of and am most passionate about. Additionally, I can teach mathematics to students of any school grade.

This tutoring class is designed to support Mechanical Engineering students in mastering core concepts of thermodynamics. I cover key topics such as the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics, energy conservation, entropy, thermodynamic cycles (Carnot, Rankine, Otto, Brayton), and the analysis of closed and open systems. Emphasis is placed on clear explanations, worked examples, and strategies for solving complex engineering problems. Core Thermodynamics topics that I teach include: • Basic Concepts: Systems (closed, open), properties, processes, and energy forms • First Law of Thermodynamics: Energy conservation in closed and open systems • Applications: turbines, compressors, nozzles, heat exchangers • Properties of Substances: Phase changes, property tables, ideal gas law, P-v-T behavior • Second Law of Thermodynamics: Heat engines, refrigerators, Carnot cycle, reversibility • Entropy: Entropy changes, T-s diagrams, irreversibility • Thermodynamic Cycles: Otto, Diesel, Rankine, Brayton, and vapor-compression cycles If you have any additional questions before starting the class, please don't hesitate to ask me. I am here to help! :)

I provide bespoke, one-on-one university Physics tuition tailored to support students across all disciplines—whether you are a dedicated physics major, an engineering student, or a life scientist navigating your core degree requirements. As a former university physics lecturer and advanced researcher, I understand that different academic tracks require different approaches to physics. Whether you need to master abstract theoretical concepts or require clear, applied fundamentals for a pre-med syllabus, I adapt my instruction entirely to your specific curriculum. My online sessions are highly interactive and heavily focused on problem-solving. We utilise digital whiteboards for seamless, real-time collaboration. Furthermore, I do not rely on generic textbooks; I design and build bespoke, professional-grade mock exams and custom worksheets tailored directly to your specific university module and upcoming assessments. Whether you need foundational support to build confidence in introductory physics or rigorous coaching to excel in your final degree-level exams, I provide the targeted, supportive environment you need to succeed.

I have graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Edinburgh, UK. I am also an Erasmus Mundus scholar with a master's in Analytical Chemistry from Uppsala University. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in physical chemistry. I have been tutoring since 2012 to fund my education expenses. I formally began tutoring in 2014 as part of my vocational training as a teacher in Ghana, funded by the University of Edinburgh. The formal training has taught me a lot about curriculum development, time management, and fusing my teaching methodology to my students’ needs. I have been tutoring in Physics, Chemistry, and Math, in person and online; the hybrid model has allowed me to reach out and teach students in 8 different countries. I have successful students from these past nine years who have not only commended my work ethic but can also stand testament to my enthusiasm. My excellent academic career has nurtured in me a natural talent for teaching. My experiences have taught me how to tackle one problem at a time, and I believe that using this approach—paired with my unconventional examples that force students to think outside the box—I can truly provide an excellent understanding and explanation. My teaching methodology is based on two main things: skill development and adaptation. Initially, I create a skeleton of the most suitable methodology tailored to the preferred curriculum, after which, I adapt that lecture to the specific needs of the student based on their knowledge and grasp of the concepts. Second, I like to develop analytical and scientific ability along with knowledge in my students, and for that, I use a combination of resources in the form of worksheets, class tasks, and past papers. Last, I believe in the strong ethic of providing feedback to the parents, so that they are aware of their child’s progress. Frequently Asked Questions: Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach math, mechanics, statistics, chemistry and physics. I also teach biology up to GCSE level. When are you available? My timetable is quite flexible. I am happy to work weekdays, week evening and weekends. Which ages and levels do you teach? The majority of my students are between the ages of 10-18, but I also teach college Students. I am also helping foundation and first year university students. Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? GCSE, o-level, A/S-level, A-level, IB, School entrance exams and SATs Describe your arrangements for online tutoring? I use Zoom online sessions since it has many tools and features specially designed for interactive and visual learning. I am fully equipped with modern gadgets for e-learning. I use Google drive and docs to share files.

Need help with mechanics, physics, or thermodynamics? As a 33-year-old civil engineer, I'm happy to help! I'll learn at your own pace, using plenty of examples to illustrate the material. I have years of experience teaching both simple and complex subjects. The lessons run as follows. First, we look together for the student's biggest stumbling blocks. These can be related to the subject matter as well as to the study method. From there, I work at the pace of the student and encourage them to ask as many questions as possible. I also give tips and tricks, and improve their working methods where necessary. During the lesson I give many examples to make the subject matter more interesting and we solve exercises together. Once practiced from the lesson, I mastered challenging exercises to also test the deeper understanding of the subject matter. In this way I try to optimally prepare the student for his/her exam test. However, learning should also be enjoyable. That is why I always strive for a bond with the student through a spontaneous and positive approach. I am also very patient. All this to solve and improve the problems. Are you interested? Don't hesitate to receive me! Please come! Tim
