I am a professional singer with more than 10 years of vocal training and performance experience. I will help you to explore and develop your own voice and give you proper knowledge of your instrument. I am in love with music since my childhood and started learning the piano and violin at the age of 7. Since singing has always been my main passion, I started taking classical singing lessons at the age of 12 and contemporary singing a few years later. After finishing my high school education, I decided to move to London to get a wider perspective, where I started writing and realising my own songs and where I got to play in many venues such as The O2 Islington, 229 Venue, the Blues Kitchen among others with my full band. I also participated in some singing contests, such as Britain Does Variety and Open Mic UK, becoming a Grand Finalist on both shows. All this allowed me to earn stage presence, experience and to improve my skills as a songwriter, performer, bandleader and music arranger. In 2016, I started my education at BIMM, where I graduated from a BETC Diploma on Popular Music Performance (Vocals) and a BMus (Hons) Degree on Popular Music Performance (Vocals). My passion for music and psychology led me to do my final degree dissertation on the link between creativity and mental health, which opened my curiosity about music and vocal therapy, A subject I have been exploring and I like to apply on my lessons. I've been teaching contemporary singing since 2016. I'm passionate about taking care of my students' vocal health. Applying mindfulness and music therapy techniques, as well as contemporary techniques such as The Speech Level Technique, Brett Manning's Singing Success Technique or The complete Vocal Technique that allows me to give them all necessary insight into healthy singing techniques and body and mind awareness. I normally emphasise good technique, interpretation skills and improvisation to give you the tools to find your own sound. In lessons, we will focus on learning and mastering the songs you are interested in and I will plan the lessons according to the needs of each student. I like encouraging students to explore different contemporary genres such as pop, rock, R&B, soul, but also different styles such as jazz, world or classical music. I also offer music theory lessons for the same price, if you are interested in improving your musicianship. I am happy to incorporate a bit of theory (or as much as you like!) in the singing lesson plan.

Trusted teacher: HOLISTIC SINGING TEACHING - THE VOICE LINKED TO SELF choice of songs and vocal development in accordance with chosen formula, objectives and needs Your voice, spoken and sung, echoes your identity - Your voice is you. Singing is therefore a very intimate, physical, sensual, emotional act, courageous in self-expression and openness to others. My goal is for you to feel sovereign in your voice, in the broadest sense. Together we are therefore going to meet her, explore what could restrain her and find the strategies to allow her to develop and you with, naturally and freely in the joy of singing. You will therefore have access at all times to your soundtracks and your courses, in order to review tips, exercises, tools and theory as if you were taking several lessons per week. You will become the actor of your progress which will be fast and solid, Your singing skills and your repertoire will inevitably grow along with your pleasure of singing and your confidence. CROSS-GENRE TEACHING - BECAUSE YOUR VOICE IS AT THE CROSS-GENDER OF ALL MUSIC A cross-genre teaching promotes a generic and exhaustive application of the principles of vocal anatomy, physiology and acoustics, unlike traditional teaching, whose cleavages between the specificities of so-called classical genres - choral, lyrical or operatic singing - and modern - pop, rock, jazz, musicals etc ... limit the field of exploration. Your voice is a unique and intelligent instrument, capable of producing a multitude of qualities of sounds and timbres, of evolving according to your range and of coordinating complex respiratory and laryngeal muscular work. Your voice remains unique, however. She has found a more or less comfortable genre of predilection, in accordance with your anatomy, your family, musical and linguistic culture. A cross-gender education will allow you to use laryngeal, acoustic and respiratory mechanisms specific to one gender or another, in order to - develop your natural palette find out what kind of music your instrument flourishes best in explore various vocal qualities, laryngeal and acoustic balances and stylistic effects to serve above all the song you are working on dare other forms of singing such as - Musical, Pop, Rock or Jazz, Classical or Opera PHYSIOLOGICAL AND ACOUSTIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE VOICE Learn to master the tools of healthy and comfortable vocal production. Trusted teacher: My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and goals. Children (7–12 years) For younger students, lessons focus on building confidence while making learning fun. We begin with simple vocal warm-ups and ear training to develop pitch and intonation, then move on to singing their favourite songs, encouraging good vocal habits in an enjoyable way. Teenagers With teenage students, we start with more structured vocal warm-ups and exercises. As we discover their natural voice, we work on developing a comfortable vocal range, improving technique, and applying these skills through songs that suit their voice and interests. Students, adults and seniors For these students, lessons are usually divided into two parts. We begin with vocal technique, focusing on breathing, diaphragm support, scales, arpeggios, and intonation. We then apply these techniques through singing, helping you develop confidence, control, and healthy vocal habits. I also prepare students for the admission to conservatory. Every student learns at a different pace. Some may spend more time building a solid technical foundation before moving on to more challenging repertoire, and that’s perfectly fine. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their vocal journey. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced singers. My classical training provides a strong technical foundation that can be applied to any musical style, whether you enjoy pop, musical theatre, jazz, rock, or classical singing. Whatever your age or experience, I’d love to help you discover and develop your voice. Let’s sing!

Mrs. Denise has demonstrated passion, mastery and, above all, great versatility as a teacher. She has skillfully recaptured the spirit of a Medieval song with imaginative vocal intensity, while discussing in great detail the lyrical content, linguistic nuances, and the historical context of the song, as well as guiding me through the intricacies of the Occitan language with confidence and poise.

As someone who loves singing it was very helpful in the very first lesson to begin to understand the muscles I need to use and the "spaces" I need to create to stabilise and improve my sound. I also felt she responded well to each question I raised, or issue she heard in the way I did the excercises. I look forward to future lessons.
