As a professional saxophonist with experience playing various different styles of music, I am able to accommodate for students individual interests. With a degree in Jazz Saxophone from Leeds Conservatoire, I have high technical ability and a in depth knowledge of Jazz music theory. This is supported by my gigging portfolio that has seen me perform on tour across Europe, as well as many UK festivals, and on stages with bands such as Madness and The Blockheads. I tailor lessons to individuals, to help aid development and generate a strong passion for one's music. Music is subjective so I find it key for learning to be student led so as to keep sustained interest and generate a positive development cycle.

YOUR FIRST LESSON During your first lesson, you will first have a quick discussion about your musical background, choice of instrument, and your musical goals. If you are a beginner, you will then learn how to set up and care for your instrument, mouthpiece, and reed. Then make sounds on your mouthpiece/reed and work on tounging, breathing, posture, and rhythm using your mouthpiece/reed, and play with the full instrument. If you already have knowledge of the instrument you will work on various techniques and exercises using sight reading, memory, improvisation, and a piece you have brought with you or she will provide for you if you have nothing prepared. You will leave your lesson with a clear understanding of your instrument and practice goals for your musical ambitions and aspirations. This class is specifically designed for beginners and intermediates. Through this class I will share you my experience with jazz, how to improvise,reharmonize, participate in a band and play jazz standards. In addition, if you are a total beginner, I will teach you the basic of your choice of instrument.
