Trusted teacher: Programming in Python (primary to university education) taught by master HIR at the KUL. Programming experience as a Civil Computer Science Engineer. HIR, TEW and Bio-IRs have already been successfully assisted. ABOUT THIS LESSON: I offer tutoring in Python programming and mathematics for university and college students. I also support secondary school and primary school students in all scientific subjects. My focus is on the student being able to find the solution independently, step by step, and I help where necessary by providing mini-tips to help them reach the next step. This makes my method much more personalized than standard classroom teaching. For me, all learning starts with understanding each step and I have several methods/tools to present and clarify this. If it is difficult to understand, I explain it in a different way, in my own words, so that the material is certainly understood, as this is the first step towards fully mastering the material in the subjects I teach. This is followed by learning to devise and write code yourself, but if this is too difficult to write a complete solution in an empty program, I have a diagram/step-by-step plan and extra tips and tricks to work towards the final solution in a much more structured way. If you have taken lessons with me or are still taking them, you can always send me questions via chat between lessons and I will quickly help you as best as possible so that you can continue practicing on yourself. I just do this during one of my own study breaks and I enjoy doing it. ABOUT NICK: I am a 22-year-old master's student in Commercial Engineering at KU Leuven. I started tutoring my sister, nephews, nieces and friends and I get a lot of satisfaction from improving and helping others when they come to me for help. Because I have been tutoring consistently for several years, I have the right resources to present learning material in an understandable way and to strengthen the motivation, concentration and independent study of my students. I also studied civil engineering for 2 years and passed the Python programming subject in that course with flying colors. I stopped doing this because the rest of the course did not interest me enough. In commercial engineering I also had part of a Python course that was much easier and for which I therefore achieved a great distinction. I have already successfully helped quite a few Commercial Engineers, TEWs and Bio-Engineers, but other courses have also been positive about my help. Other directions can certainly contact me as well. High school students are of course also in the right place with me. I don't give up until I'm sure a student understands the material well enough and I see them making progress. By always appearing enthusiastic, I ensure that together we do not let the drudgery of difficult subjects get any further than the school desks. I am flexible in making appointments and am open to every student. I provide tutoring at your home (I can travel by car), at my home (Kampenhout), in my student room (Leuven) or online. If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact me so that we can discuss the practical matters in more depth immediately. Together we can draw up a plan and work lesson by lesson to achieve your personal academic goals or those of your child.

Trusted teacher: This course is designed to take you from a complete beginner with no prior programming experience to a confident Python programmer. You'll learn not just the syntax of Python, but how to think like a programmer, solve problems, and build practical applications. Who is this course for? Absolute beginners to programming. Professionals from other fields looking to automate tasks. Students needing to learn programming for academics. Anyone interested in data science, web development, or automation. What You'll Learn (Course Objectives): By the end of this course, you will be able to: Understand and write Python code using fundamental concepts like variables, data types, and loops. Structure your code using functions, modules, and classes (Object-Oriented Programming). Read from and write to files on your computer. Handle errors and exceptions gracefully. Use essential Python libraries for tasks like web scraping, data analysis, or building simple games. Debug your code and solve complex problems by breaking them down into smaller steps. Build a portfolio of projects to showcase your skills. Course Outline: Module 1: The Python Basics Setting up your development environment (Installing Python & PyCharm/VSCode). Your first Python script: "Hello, World!". Variables, Data Types (Strings, Numbers, Booleans). Basic Operators and Input/Output. Module 2: Controlling the Flow Conditional statements (if, elif, else). Loops: for loops and while loops. Data Collections: Lists, Tuples, Sets, and Dictionaries. Module 3: Writing Clean and Reusable Code Functions: Defining and calling your own functions. Scope and namespaces. Introduction to Modules and the Python Standard Library (e.g., math, random). Module 4: Intermediate Concepts Working with Files (Reading, Writing, and Appending). Error and Exception Handling (try, except). List Comprehensions for concise code. Module 5: Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Classes and Objects. The __init__ method and self. Inheritance and Polymorphism. Module 6: Capstone Project Apply all your skills to build a significant project. Example Projects: A simple web scraper, a to-do list application, a basic text-based adventure game, or a data analysis script. Prerequisites: No prior programming experience is required! A computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) with an internet connection. A willingness to learn and problem-solve.

Develop Your Python Skills: Intermediate to Advanced This course is structured to consolidate your foundations and propel you toward complex projects, focusing on development best practices. 🐍 Intermediate Python: Solid Fundamentals This module aims to transform your superficial knowledge into operational mastery of the basics. Programming Concepts: In-depth review and application of variables, strings, and control logic (loops, conditions, switch-like structures). Modularity and Functions: Effective creation and use of functions to write reusable and maintainable code. Using Modules: Hands-on learning of integrating libraries to extend functionality (e.g. Turtle for drawing, time for time management, Pygame for games). Intermediate Final Project: Completion of a concrete mini-project using Turtle and/or Pygame modules to synthesize the acquired knowledge. 🚀 Advanced Python: Structures, OOP and Real Projects Take your skills to the next level by learning how to manage complex data and design robust applications. Advanced Data Structures: Detailed study and expert manipulation of Python collections: lists, tuples, sets, and dictionaries. Learn when to use which structure to optimize your programs. Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Complete mastery of OOP (classes, objects, inheritance, encapsulation) – the essential approach for large-scale software development. Advanced Application Projects: Direct application of skills on high-value projects: Web Scraping (extraction of data from websites). Development of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) with Tkinter and PyQt libraries.
