I am a bassoonist and composer from Australia who is available to tutor in Amsterdam. I teach not only the ordinary modern bassoon but also historical performance, whether that would be on period instruments or otherwise. I am also available to tutor music theory and composition for all levels. I have won prizes in both bassoon and composition, including the Royal Schools Music Club Anniversary Scholarship, the Bendat Family Foundation Composition Scholarship, the Royal Over-Seas League Arts Travel Scholarship, and the Catholic Arts Chapman Scholarship. Course I: Vocal lessons The vocal lessons are designed on the student’s needs, meaning that during the lessons we will work on whatever is there to improve in order to let you get the most from your singing voice! The practice of Roller Dance is a completely independent street art with very few rules. If you are a lover of "quads" (roller skates) that you dream of sliding on the asphalt with your hair blowing in the wind and that you like old school culture, you've come to the right place;) I suggest for beginners (first time or not yet comfortable) to gain confidence on roller skates thanks to balance exercises as well as basic steps and tips to safely learn the basics of Roller Dance. For the intermediate level (you hold on well on your skates) I suggest learning the most emblematic steps of this discipline, which have made the reputation of Roller Dance all over the world, you will be able to do sequences yourself and why not improvise in the evening. For the advanced level (you already know how to dance on roller skates) I suggest that you make your movements more fluid by correcting the posture and by incorporating the arms, to take steps at a higher level, but also to help you create your own "routine" (small loop representing your signature)

That's why we create together a plan of study with ideas, goals and subjects to reach out our dream to make music (that's also my dream) Nevertheless, I can give you an overview of the content: I divide the music theory in two: Technical and Musical. Technical Theory regarding all the concepts and information related to music, and Musical Theory regarding the ideas and concepts to help us understand and improve the performance of music. Besides that, we look to harmony in a functional, rhythmical and organic way. We learn and approach music from the first lesson, looking at it from different angles (understanding rhythm and essence of a song for example). All this plus a nice diet of assignments and exercises: D Furthermore, we put especial attention to enjoying music. That means playing but also listening music! I am specialized in teaching adults the cello. Adults learn much faster then children, you will be surprised how quickly you are able to play your first song. If you do not have a cello yet; I do. The lessons are full hour lessons and given in a nice studio in the Amsterdam Houthavens, with floor cooling and heating. We play duets from your first lesson and I accompany you on the piano. I also host cello weekends and workshops, from beginners on to advanced players. Since I rent out cello's you are able to rent the correct size. I also sell beautiful old and new cellos.
