In my classes I will help students to tackle German including its grammar (cases, sentence structure, nouns, adjectives and more) and its vocabulary. Having a good understanding of basic German vocabulary and grammar will help boost confidence when sitting GCSE exams and improve grades!

Learning German can be daunting however I try to take it step-by-step, guiding students through each topic to help make students feel more confident with their German learning where grammar is the foundation. I also focus on developing topics that students find most challenging as well as using practice exam papers to prepare students for their exams.

I am currently a Linguistics student studying at the University of York. I have 2 years worth of tutor experience in German tutoring GCSE students at my school whilst studying for my A-Levels. At A-Level I achieved an A* for Geography and an A for German. At GCSE I achieved an A* in both German and Geography as well as achieving an 8 in Maths and a 9 in English literature.

I am currently on the committee of York Student Minds, a charity which helps to spread awareness of mental health across my university, providing support and signposting for students who may be struggling.

My extracurricular activities include tennis, swimming, music, watching doctor who and helping to raise awareness about mental health which I feel very passionately about.

You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland.
