Learn overtone singing with a European champion (traditional Mongolian/Tuvan songs, guttural, harmonic)

My first lesson is the most important; it's a three-hour introductory course to Mongolian singing, where I teach the three main styles: Kargyraa (low-pitched singing, like a didgeridoo), Khoomei (medium-pitched singing, like a jaw harp), and Sygyt (high-pitched singing, like a flute). If you only want to learn one style, then you don't need the full three hours; one or two will suffice. This introductory course will give you all the basics you need to practice the techniques on your own, and you may not need any further lessons.

My teaching approach is based on precision, because these techniques demand it! However, being largely self-taught and having experimented extensively myself, I know what not to do, just as I know the transformative techniques that make all the difference. Also, since everyone is different, I have several ways of approaching the same technique; if one method doesn't suit you, I'll surely have another solution!

About Me
My name is Jérôme, and I learned overtone singing in 2016 on my own after extensive research into Mongolian/Tuvan chants. Through several years of rigorous practice, I've mastered the main techniques of Mongolian/Tuvan overtone singing, as well as some lesser-known styles, but rest assured, you'll see results quite quickly!

My technique has allowed me to perform concerts accompanied by talented musicians, including a performance on the main stage of the Le Rêve de l'Aborigène festival (the largest French world music festival, with more than 5000 people), which led to a masterclass where I taught 20 students.

In 2021, I received a nomination for best Kargyraa (the deep singing that resembles a Didgeridoo) when I participated in the first online overtone singing tournament organized by the Tuva Cultural Center.

In 2022, I had the opportunity to meet one of my idols, Imre Peemot, who is, in my opinion, one of the best throat singers in the world. I spent four days with him and assisted him during two days of workshops. This allowed me to learn from a true master and absorb his teaching methods, which I have since shared in my own classes.

In 2025, I won the prize for best Sygyt (high-pitched singing, like a flute) at the first European Throat Singing Tournament which took place in Switzerland, the prize was given to me by 1 Mongolian master, 1 Tuvan master and another internationally renowned singer.

Today I am trying to push the boundaries of overtone singing and beatboxing by developing new styles of subharmonic singing.
Education
I learned overtone singing in 2016 on my own after doing a lot of research on Mongolian/Touvain songs. It is with several years of rigorous practice that I was able to master the main techniques of Mongolian overtone singing as well as the lesser known styles, but rest assured, you will get results rather quickly! I recently took a course by Tuvan singing master Imre Peemot, who is a renowned artist, which enriched my already existing knowledge and techniques.
Experience / Qualifications
My technique allowed me to perform concerts accompanied by talented musicians, including a performance on the main stage of the Le Rêve de l'Aborigène festival (a world music festival), which gave rise to a masterclass where I taught 20 students. Since then, I teach in groups or in private lessons (face-to-face or webcam).
I also participated in two overtone singing competitions organized by the Tuva cultural center, and was nominated in the category "Dedication to Tuvan Kargyraa"

Singing lessons and vocal coaching online or at the singing teacher (M° Gallieni Line 3).
I am a vocal coach at Cours Florent for 7 years, also coach for the shows of Disneyland Paris and also at the Conservatoire de Paris 7th, as well as in private classes (pros or amateur).
State graduate (diploma of vocal trainer from Richard Cross School). Trained in the Joe Estill Voice training method (Quebec), I also attended singing classes with Nicole Falien, Julia Pelaez, Joy Kane and Christiane Legrand.
Coach in French and English of various professional or amateur artists for more than ten years (all styles, from rap to "Musical", from song to electronics and everything related to current music, recently I coached a lyrical artist "lead" of the musical "La petite boutique des horreurs" at the Opéra comique this season).
My classes are for all: singers and/ or musicians, professional or amateur singers-composers, preparations for auditions/ castings, recordings in studio, coaching of groups in play, artists in studio, all ages all styles welcome! )
Work of the voice in all current musical repertoires except lyrical.
I accompany you to the piano, where we can work on your instruments, various accompaniments, karaoke.
Welcome rap (I have more and more rappers/slammers, we do important work on the flow, the projection, the installation of breaths, rhythmic adjustments, intelligibility of the text etc.) all work easily when we know how and when we want to evolve !

Being also singer-songwriter and pianist, I can help you develop your compositions, your songs, place the tonic accents where it is necessary, teach you to accompany yourself on the piano itself:-) work on the interpretation of songs of course. Prepare your studio sessions (and/or accompany you if necessary), before your concerts, rehearsals...Give you the tips to not get tired, and know how to repair your voice when you have pushed too much, and especially teach you to project your voice without hurting yourself, etc.
In short, to provide you with solid and indispensable bases to sing healthily (without getting hurt!) and freely!

For distance courses (if you prefer, I do it regularly, especially since two years, and also with my students abroad), as long as you have a computer, it’s gone (or at worst a smartphone)!
In short, I will tell you everything you need to know to release your voice!

The difference between «vocal coaching» and «singing lessons» is that I take the singer, the actor the actress, the rapper(s) in the vocal state in which he/she arrives, and I take him/her and take him/her where he/she wants to go, with the repertoire you choose, which can be yours (songwriter), or the one you choose or that I can help you choose according to your range and your musical tastes of course.
I do "with" you, with what you are, with what you bring me as "raw material"! There is always something to do to move forward, no matter what your starting level! :)

It can also be just a moment for you, just for the pleasure of singing, whatever you want!
Singing is life! ;-)

Growing up in the musical world, with a drummer father and a singer mother, Music is an integral part of my life. After several volunteer projects, I was spotted at Disneyland Paris for larger projects (8000 people per evening).
I then obtained a certification as a "Singer in Current Music", with an impressive result of 49.63 out of 50. My last Gala was that of the "Pièces Jaunes" for Mrs. Brigitte Macron. I am also a Vocal Coach, from child to adult. All levels. We work on intonation, emotion, musicality and pronunciation (songs in several languages).
My teaching method? I am convinced that everyone can sing, if they are motivated. It is therefore important for me to accompany my students with tact and enthusiasm. The exercises and songs performed will be in line with the students' desires and needs.

My teacher's credo

As an opera singer, I have had the opportunity to perform on international stages while continuing to teach, which is a true vocation for me.

In vocal pedagogy, I believe that each student is the bearer of a unique instrument: their voice. This is why it is essential to adapt teaching and methodological tools to the individuality of each student. This approach allows me to conduct my classes in a variety of ways, choosing the most relevant vocal exercises or repertoire pieces to reveal the individual potential of each voice.

My technique is based on:

* in-depth breathing exercises,
* awareness of the whole body as an instrument,
* understanding the biological principles of breathing and its artistic role,
* the development of a free and resonant vocal emission.

My main objectives are to:

* maintain a feeling of high vocal position, awareness of resonant cavities in singing,
* work on the purity and continuity of vowels (legato), work on diction (Italian, German, French, etc.)
* gradually develop the tessitura,
* harmonize and balance the different vocal registers.

Finally, I place great importance on the student's personal development. Building a voice also means supporting an artistic personality: this involves guiding each student toward a repertoire adapted to their stage of vocal development, while nurturing their sensitivity and self-confidence.

Does your child love to sing and want to develop their voice, gain confidence or improve their technique? Do you want to start singing yourself or improve your skills?

I offer private singing and vocal technique lessons, fully personalized according to the level and objectives of each student, whether beginner, amateur or already experienced.

Each course is structured in three parts:

1. Physical and vocal warm-up
Body relaxation, diaphragm placement, breathing exercises, posture and grounding, to prepare the voice and avoid any tension.

2. Vocal Technique
Exercises adapted to the student's level: breath control, voice placement, accuracy, articulation, resonance, power without straining.

3. Application to a piece
Putting the technique into practice on a song chosen by the student (or suggested) to work on interpretation and enjoy singing.

The styles are open: pop, variety, French chanson, lyrical... according to desires.

In addition, I offer the basics of music theory and piano for students who wish to learn to read sheet music or accompany themselves while singing.

I offer lessons exclusively dedicated to jazz singing, focusing on interpretation, exploring the jazz repertoire, and music theory applied to jazz. These sessions are for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the world of jazz, from beginners to intermediate levels, as well as those who wish to prepare for conservatory entrance auditions.

- Jazz Style and Interpretation: Work on jazz phrasing, swing, rhythm and text placement on the great jazz standards.

- Jazz Improvisation and Scat: Introduction to jazz vocal improvisation and development of melodic invention.

- Applied Jazz Theory and Ear Training: Reading jazz chord charts, understanding jazz harmony and working on listening skills.

- Essential vocal technique: Basic concepts (breathing, posture) addressed in a practical way according to the needs of the jazz piece being studied.

The goal is to provide concrete tools to sing the jazz repertoire independently, develop your own stylistic identity or succeed in your conservatory entrance exams.
