About Me
Hi! I’m Caleb, I am from Sant Lucia and have lived in many places around the world but I am excited to now live in Barcelona!

I am a professional violist and dedicated music educator with a deep passion for helping musicians grow and succeed. My musical journey has taken me from my early beginnings in St. Lucia, to performing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall. I perform in many festivals abroad and with professional ensembles, I’ve toured internationally and collaborated with renowned artists, gaining invaluable experience that I bring to my teaching.

I tailor my lessons to meet each student’s unique goals:
• For beginners, I create a supportive and engaging environment to build a strong foundation and instill a love for music.
• For intermediate players, I focus on refining technique, enhancing musical expression, and exploring more challenging repertoire.
• For those aiming to enter or advance in competitions, I provide expert guidance on preparation, interpretation, and stage presence, drawing from my own experiences as a competition winner.

My approach combines technical rigor with creative exploration, aiming to inspire confidence and joy in every student, whether they’re playing for fun or pursuing a professional path.

Since the beginning of my artistic violin studies at the Higher Conservatory of Music in Würzburg, Germany, I discovered teaching as my passion and worked as a violin teacher teaching children, teenagers and adults of all levels, both beginners and advanced.
Violin classes and masterclasses with various teachers and professors have given me a lot of experience in terms of different techniques and ways of working.

The most important thing for me is to convey the joy of making music through violin performance, to encourage my students to overcome their limitations, as well as to teach them a technique that is as natural as possible.

Step by step you will learn to listen
finely and attentively, perceive your body awareness, develop a beautiful sound, and practice independently.

I speak English, German, Russian and I try to improve my Spanish every day :)

Welcome! I'm Paula, and this course is designed for anyone who wants to get started in the world of music, either by learning the basics of musical language or by starting to play the violin. As a professional violinist with a professional degree and extensive experience performing at private events, I have designed this course to convey my knowledge in a clear, practical and exciting way.

The course is suitable for those with no prior knowledge as well as those who are already familiar with some aspects of music. Students can choose to focus on musical language, on learning to play the violin, or even combine both.

In a comfortable and flexible environment, you will have a room at the Poblenou Campus in Barcelona, where you will have access to quality resources and schedules tailored to your needs. My goal is to guide you every step of your musical journey, helping you develop your skills and enjoy the learning process.

Learning!
- The fundamentals of musical language: reading sheet music, rhythm, bars and more.
- Basic techniques for playing the violin: posture, tuning, bow and first melodies.
- Development of musicality and artistic sensitivity.
- Practical methods to advance quickly and enjoy learning.

The teaching method is based on maintaining both the motivation and the quality of the violinist's level. Therefore, a wide repertoire is included to address different needs, allowing students to choose concerts or works to practice at their leisure and as part of their progress as an instrumentalist. The etudes are continued as the songs in the repertoire are added. For technical exercises, several etude books are used, including: - Cecilio (for level 0) - The Suzuki Method (as a guiding thread from beginner to advanced) - Kayser Etudes (for the transition to intermediate) - Kreutzer Etudes (for the transition to advanced)

My approach to teaching is simple: build strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging and motivating. Especially for beginners, it’s important that learning the violin feels enjoyable—not frustrating.

I adapt every lesson to the student’s level, age, and goals, but I usually follow a clear structure:

• Warm-up (bow control, posture, sound)
• Technique (scales, finger placement, coordination)
• Repertoire (songs and pieces adapted to the level)
• Fun element (games, simple improvisation, or familiar melodies)
• Wrap-up with clear practice goals

I mainly work with beginners and early intermediate students, especially children and teenagers, but I also welcome adults who want to start from scratch. No prior experience is needed.

My strengths as a teacher are patience, clarity, and the ability to keep students motivated in the early stages—when many people usually give up. I focus on helping students enjoy the process while still making consistent progress week after week.

Lessons are available at your home in Barcelona (Pedralbes, Sarrià, Les Corts, Poblenou), and I teach in English, Spanish, or French.
