Extra information
Students will need to have a suitable instrument to practise on, they will also need to acquire their own music books. I can, of course, advise on these matters. For online lessons, a good Internet connection and electronic device such as a laptop or tablet will be required.

About Me
I have 17 years experience teaching the violin and piano to students from 5 years of age, and above. My students range in ability from beginners to advanced levels.

My teaching is tailored to the needs of the student I'm working with because no one is alike. That said, I aim to instil the fundamentals of good technique in all students so there will be focus on ensuring that things like the correct hand positions and playing posture are being used.

Many of my students find it motivating to work towards grading exams, such as those by ABRSM. Some students prefer to just work through pieces for fun, and that's totally fine.

I like to build a rapport with the students and offer feedback to them in a constructive way so that they feel that lessons are a safe place to express themselves musically.

To make progress and get the most out of having lessons, practise is essential. Learning to play an instrument is a commitment that can be very rewarding, and it means you will have no reason to ever feel bored. In the words of Sergei Rachmaninov: "Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music."

About me

I’m a passionate musician with over 20 years of experience playing acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, and 15 years of teaching others to share my love for music. Growing up, I spent 8 years playing in a church band before heading to university. Although I went on to study engineering and then human resources, I continued teaching music — whether online or face-to-face.

Have you ever listened to a song and wished you could just pick up a guitar and play along without checking the chords? My lessons will give you the tools to play by ear, enabling you to join in effortlessly and confidently without relying on chord charts. Whether you’re picking up the guitar for the first time or refining your technique, I offer a flexible and personalised approach to help you achieve your musical goals.

Has your previous piano learning experience been a bit dull? Are you seeking a fresh approach to piano lessons? In my piano lessons, inspired by the Jacques-Dalcroze method, you'll enjoy a unique musical journey beyond just playing the piano and studying theory. You'll also be singing, improvising on the keyboard, and even moving to the music through dance. Learning piano should never be boring, and it certainly isn’t for me or my students. With me, you’ll discover the countless ways the piano can express music. You’ll explore compositions from various composers, periods, and styles, from the classical works of Mozart, Bach, Debussy, and Chopin, to modern pieces, pop songs, and jazz, including Shostakovich. Through eurhythmics exercises, you'll not only play but also feel the music by moving with it, enhancing your musical knowledge and deepening your emotional connection to sound. If you're unsure about moving with the music, don’t worry—I’ll be there to guide you in finding a way to enjoy and love music. I've played the piano since I was five years old and hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Geneva Music University. More recently, I completed my MA in Interdisciplinary Dance Performance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. While my teaching experience mainly focuses on children aged 5-10, I am also well-versed in providing music training and piano lessons for adults. Most lessons are 60 minutes long, but I’m happy to adapt the timing and content based on your needs. Please feel free to get in touch if you're interested in lessons. I look forward to sharing my passion for music with you!
