Extra information

The lessons are in-home, so the student/student's family must have a working piano or keyboard. Books will be chosen by me, based on the students ability, and range from 8-10 euro each. Typically two to three books are needed per year.

I teach adults of all levels!

I often mentor people who are just starting out, helping them develop their interest in the instrument and play the music they love.

A lot of students come in with anxiety about how good or fast they're going to be able to learn. I work to build a respectful, supportive environment where you feel comfortable developing and learning at your own pace.

For intermediate and advanced students, I teach with a particular focus on fundamental technique through études, and developing musicality.

Oftentimes, as hobbyists, we have holes from our early studies that prevent us from developing later in life. My aim is to help correct that. You should leave with renewed confidence to tackle pieces that have intimidated or eluded you in the past.

I am an experienced and enthusiastic guitar tutor from Leeds, England, living in Berlin. I have a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Leeds College of Music although I also play and teach rock, pop, funk, folk, and indie music.

In lessons, I aim to get students to play something they know as soon as possible in order to get excited about progress early on. We balance this with paying attention to proper technique and having one eye on the theory behind what we are playing to broaden your understanding of how music works.

We will work on several topics as recognition of the instrument, technique, reading, repertoire, harmony, ear training and composition among other topics.
