Hello, my name is Kateryna. I will be glad to become your Spanish teacher. I also speak and can teach Ukrainian, Russian, English and Dutch :) I like to learn new things, especially languages. And also to share knowledge and study methods. I write poems and prose, draw abstractions. I believe in the perfection of the world and a bright future. I have 3 years of experience as a teacher: 1 year of experience teaching Spanish online; 2 years of experience in private online English lessons; 7 months of offline English language teaching experience for Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands. Interesting and fun Spanish lessons for children and adults who remain children at heart. We watch cartoons, listen to songs, read poetry and prose. We analyze what is happening there, we speak out loud a lot, put pronunciation, do interesting exercises. We also sing a lot - because this is the best way to learn a new language. I also arrange a practice with a native Ecuadorian. I myself lived in Ecuador and Spain for a long time, and I practice using the language with native speakers every day.

Teaching music that you would like to play for people, for yourself, whatever you want, I will find ways to help you with my practice methods, using my knowledge and experience that I got for more than 15 years of studying music, playing on stage, in a choir, with an orchestra, in music competitions, the difference of playing in all those situations, how to deal with your emotions when you play in front of people, and more.

I think it is important to keep a lesson pace that suits the student. So that the student feels comfortable and continues to enjoy learning. I cover the practical and theoretical basis (think of scales and note reading, for example), but there is also room for the more fun side of playing the piano. Think of learning the pop songs or classical pieces that you like!

I give personal and practical Dutch lessons to adults at levels A0–A2. The lessons are suitable for people starting from scratch, but also for students who already understand some Dutch and want to gain more confidence in speaking and understanding it. During the lessons, we work on speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, and basic grammar. We immediately practice new words and grammatical structures in recognizable situations from daily life and work. We also listen to short dialogues and practice how Dutch sounds in real conversations. For example, we practice: Introduce yourself and talk about your family; make appointments; grocery shopping and understanding prices; time, days and months; housing and transport; health and contact with the general practitioner; conversations with colleagues and customers; simple WhatsApp messages and emails. No two students are the same. That is why I tailor the lessons to your level, pace, profession, and personal goals. In addition to structured lesson material, I use extra exercises and assignments that align with situations where you need Dutch. You receive clear explanations, plenty of repetition, interactive exercises, and personalized homework with feedback. My goal is not only for you to learn and understand Dutch, but also to dare to use it increasingly independently and with more confidence in the Netherlands.

As a native English speaker sometimes I am asked: well why is there three different words for (their there and they’re but they all sound the same?) A question I would love to answer with you in one of our tutoring sessions. I can work with younger children to establish basics, right the way through to adults wishing to perfect their speaking skills. In addition, I have a plethora of English texts to work with for students wishing to focus on English Literature. I have an A-level and GCSE qualification in English. I will tailor lessons to your needs/ability and age. I provide speaking, listening and writing activities. For children, I will work with a shared document, where I will keep a record of your child’s progress, the actives we did and their homework. Parents are welcome to be present. For adults I will provide a shared document of your homework and progress. I am happy to offer online or in person sessions for children/adults. I can also offer help with university applications in the United Kingdom and English examination preparation and application. We can also discuss intensive lessons (every-day for 5 days) includes speaking, listening and writing.
