This class is for anyone interested starting learning or gaining new insights to playing the violin. Depending on the student's final goal we adjust the repertoire and skills that are needed for obtaining the goal. As a musician I am inspired by many styles of playing, with classical music and Scandinavian folk being my main focus. My goal as a teacher is to keep and increase the students love for music as well as offer necessary and appropriate skills to keep the student challenged.

In my teaching I emphasize the importance of founding a correct and accurate playing technique early on. This allows the students to enjoy an effective and high quality learning process as well as avoiding physical pains and injuries from playing. Furthermore, I encourage all my students to get in contact and work with different types of classical repertoire and other musical genres in their instrumental studies.

Hello everyone :) my name is Luís! Currently I'm doing my Individual Concentration Master at the Norwegian Academy of Music. I'm mainly a Clarinet player, but I can also help you taking your first steps on the Piano, even Guitar or Saxophone is possible. If you're interested in my humble services, expect my deep commitment in bringing out your beautiful inner voice trought this cosmic art. This class is for anyone wanting to explore and learn to express yourself through your own musicality and creativity, starting from beginners to intermediate level. I'll give you some tools for relaxed and free playing, I will work a lot with freeing up the body and remove tensions. For me it's important to find joy and expression in the music, and for that we need a solid foundation in technique, which I will start with and make sure you feel sure in your abilities! I want to help you reach your goals or just play for fun :) classically schooled, but any genre is welcome!

Alessandro graduated with honors at Conservatoire “G. Martucci” in 2008, obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Classical Saxophone. He then moved to Belgium, where in 2013, he got a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Music at LUCA (Lemmens Instituut) in Leuven, studying with Frank Vaganèe (Leader of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra). Here he founded a new jazz band called L- Town Connection, winner of Dinant Jazz Festival Young Talent Contest in 2011. Alessandro then continued his studies at CODARTS in Rotterdam, obtaining his Master’s Degree in Jazz in 2016 and studying with the teachers Simon Rigter, Dick De Graaf, Ben van den Dungen and Milan Bonger. He has collaborated and performed with various artists such as Frenna, Giacomo Turra, Akua Naru, Sly5thave, Ed Motta, Young Gun Silver Fox, DeWolff, Dawn Brothers,Shirma Rouse, Ghostface Killah (Wu- tang Clan), Dj Yella (N.W.A.) and many others performing at renowned venues across Europe and USA such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Lowlands, Melkweg, Couleur Café, Koninklijk Concertgebouw Amsterdam, De Doelen, Gentse Feesten, Vienna Sunsplash and many more. .

I offer piano and music theory lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. My lessons are designed not only to refine technique but also to bring out each student’s creativity and deepen their connection to music. Many of my students have achieved highest results on ABRSM exams (distinctions), and won scholarships and awards in competitions. With over 12 years of teaching experience and a strong background in classical piano performance, I provide a tailored approach that meets students whichever level they are—whether they are just starting out or already at an advanced level! The lessons take place in central Oslo, just a 5-minute walk from Oslo Central Station, on a beautiful Essex grand piano made by Steinway & Sons, which provides an inspiring sound and playing experience. There is an optional student concert every year for those who wish to showcase their progress.

I am versatile - I have performed a large repertoire of diverse cello music. I collaborate in chamber ensembles, in orchestras, also have been playing in orchestra in Germany, Lithuania, Czech Republic, in Malta, In Poland, I have also been playing solo with orchestra. I accepted an invitation to become a cello teacher and it was helpful as I became more critical of myself and I was looking for new techniques and methods. I have been composing since the age of 8, I write compositions in the chamber music genre, including for cello solo, cello and piano, piano and oboe and string quartet. Music is my language and my way to express myself, I feel every note deep in my heart and it is reflected in the timbre of the cello.

These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'.
