Learning mindfulness is an important piece in any child or young adult's life. It helps individuals to learn coping skills that they will be able to integrate as they develop in their early years. This class introduces the practice of mindfulness, movement, visualization and expression. Mindfulness is practicing the ability to cultivate moment-to-moment awareness of an individuals experience and present circumstances. This class includes an active yoga practice, breathing strategies, exercise and a drawing activity for ages 6-10 years old. We believe that practicing mindfulness is an important life skill as well as an academic skill. This is an evidence based learning approach of developing increased focus, self-awareness, empathy and coping skills. This class consists of 3 building blocks of information to fully allow each child to engage and retain their experience. We look forward to seeing you in our class!

About Me
Hi, my name is Ashlee and I am excited to meet you! I am a TESOL/TEFL Certified ESL Teacher and Yoga Instructor. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio, USA. I have taught in different schools providing students with development of the English language, reading and literacy skills, math, science and social studies. I offer formative assessment, academic goal setting, provide individualized lesson plans and emphasize leadership skills. I have worked one-on-one with children ages 3-15 in the classroom and virtually. I enjoy creating lessons that allow students to use their imagination to unlock their unique potential in their education. I love to teach English as a second language because I am passionate about learning, unlocking new perspectives and the cultural exchange that takes place. My co-teacher Christine Frenzel and I collaborate together as a team creating our class coursework. We specialize in early childhood education and are passionate about delivering content that keeps students engaged. We focus on conversational practice, art, culture, mindfulness, stretching, yoga, emotional regulation and behavior management. English, grammar, phonics, reading and literacy. Education
I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of General Studies. I focused in Communications and Sociology. I gained my TESOL and TEFL Certification through International Open Academy and Full Circle.
Experience / Qualifications
I have 10 years experience teaching in the classroom and virtually. I have been teaching English as a Second Language for 8 years virtually and in person. I hold a 120HR TESOL, 160HR TEFL, 200HR Yoga Certification and a Bachelor of General Studies in Communications.
