Learning mindfulness is an important piece in any child or young adult's life. It helps individuals to learn coping skills that they will be able to integrate as they develop in their early years. This class introduces the practice of mindfulness, movement, visualization and expression. Mindfulness is practicing the ability to cultivate moment-to-moment awareness of an individuals experience and present circumstances. This class includes an active yoga practice, breathing strategies, exercise and a drawing activity for ages 6-10 years old. We believe that practicing mindfulness is an important life skill as well as an academic skill. This is an evidence based learning approach of developing increased focus, self-awareness, empathy and coping skills. Hi, my name is Ashlee and I am excited to meet you! I am a TESOL/TEFL Certified ESL Teacher and Yoga Instructor. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio, USA. I have taught in different schools providing students with development of the English language, reading and literacy skills, math, science and social studies.
