I specialise in preparing students for IELTS and Cambridge exams. As an active Examiner I can save you time, money and effort by letting you know all the secrets and tricks of the exams that the books don't tell you: what to do, what not to do and what the commonly made mistakes to avoid are. A bespoke package is designed in order to ensure you pass in the study time available.
Adults General / Business courses are designed for people who have worked hard all day but still want to enjoy English through communication. There is vocabulary-building and some grammar work so you can feel you are making a good investment of your time and will have something to show for it at the end of the course - be it for a business negotiation or as a tourist travelling abroad.
Children's English classes are designed with twin goals in mind. Firstly another dimension in the child-parent relationship is created and secondly time and money on other lessons is saved by enabling both child and parent to communicate and practice together.
Classes aimed at Primary and Teenage learners where two or more may study together are also available. Such classes can either be General English or another school subject taught/reviewed in English. With teenagers this may be for examination preparation.
As I learnt Chinese Mandarin as a foreign language I will have a keen understanding of your needs based on my knowledge of the linguistic differences between Chinese and Western languages. Therefore there is an emphasis on Speaking and Listening as the easier skills.
I can teach you both Politics and Sociology to degree level so please do not hesitate to inform me of the specialist revision or teaching it is you require, be it a high school course or of a module you are studying at university.
The Geography course is designed for either primary or secondary school students who want to review what they have learnt at school in Geography class through the medium of English (CLIL) in my class or for those who want to focus on Geography exam preparation with me.

About Me
I have strong communication skills and am a very good team player who is not afraid of hard work. My time spent teaching from kindergarten to university ages, both in England and abroad, has made me a very patient and creative person who is able to both work well under pressure and use his own initiative. I can deal with emerging situations appropriately and with a calm head. As a much trusted employee I was asked to plan the academic curriculum which included the English language study syllabus as well as organize field-trips and graduation activities.
Prior to this, my time spent working for the universities of both Oxford and Cambridge in the Marketing Department and as a script-checker trained me to work to tight deadlines and showed others my respect for confidentiality by ensuring secure filing. I have also been able to show an eye for detail, liaise well and work with the utmost level of professionalism and responsibility throughout my teaching, management and marketing careers.
I have most recently worked as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language in Italy where I prepared students for IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge suite Examinations as well as teaching Business English, General English and Children’s English.
