Fun and friendly singing tutor offering online video tuition. I am delighted to teach students of all ages and abilities, one-to-one or in small groups, and always tailor my lessons to suit the needs and interests of my students. I can help students to discover their voices for the first time, build their confidence, prepare for auditions and performances and progress through exams. I can also teach beginner musicians how to read music.

An experienced tutor, I enjoy working with aspiring singers of all ages and abilities in order to help people sing the music they love in the healthiest way possible. I am happy to work on a wide range of repertoire, including opera and classical pieces, musical theatre repertoire, pop and film music, jazz standards and anything in between. I can help prepare pupils for concerts and exams, and teach the building blocks of music to anyone wanting to learn how to read music and get a grasp of basic music theory.

Extra information

Online video tuition via Skype or Zoom. When lockdown eases I will also be offering in-person tuition from my home-studio in Haywards Heath.

About Me

I am a classically trained soprano, and have recently completed my studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Alexander Gibson Opera School. I enjoy a busy career as a performer, and have recently appeared with Northern Opera Group, Pop-Up Opera, Edvard Gried Kor and Bergen National Opera.

I have taught privately for a number of years, and have also held posts in various schools as a peripatetic singing teacher. My pupils all sing for pleasure, but I have also helped many of them to attain qualifications at a high level.

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.
My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.
