Since my graduation from Popular Music and Recording (BA Hons) at The University of Salford in 2010 I have honed my talents as both a performance artist and session singer both within the UK and abroad. For the past five years I have been teaching singing within grammar and private music schools.

My lessons focus upon giving students the correct breathing, posture, projection, range and confidence, I also incorporate areas of music theory to greaten the levels of musical understanding. Backing tracks are used when pupils are working on a piece, this allows them to take the piece home with them and practise their solo vocals, without the need of being in lessons. My lesson are Popular Music based focussing on varying different genres from Pop, Musical Theatre, contemporary Jazz and Swing to Electronic music and Rock.

Each lesson the student will begin with a series of warm ups, which they can perform easily at home before they begin personal practise. After the warm up section we begin working upon pulling a piece apart and helping strengthen students range and breath control.
My lessons move at a pace suitable for each individual.

If students would like to embark upon taking grade examinations I also teach the London College of Music Popular Music Vocals Grades 1-8.

About Me

I started teaching in 2014 after combating my own issues with stage fright. I began researching and realised that I could also help others combat anxiety and get the best out of themselves as vocalists and performers. I wanted to give vocalists the tools to become more confident and consistent vocally in a healthy way.
I always work with the students pace in mind and I am mindful that sometimes lessons and performing can be daunting for beginners and intermediate vocalist alike.

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.
My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.
As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs.
