Catherine has been classically trained, earning the highest qualifications from the elite Paris Conservatoires. She won first prizes in violin, chamber music, piano, and clarinet, attended the London Royal College of Music and is a fully qualified Postgraduate soloist and ensemble recitalist. As a winner of multiple violin competitions in Paris, she performed at prestigious concerts around Europe.
Catherine has been mentored by violin masters such as Dona Lee Croft (herself a student of Nathan Milstein and Ivan Galamian), Vladimir Spivakov (Russian maestro), Maryvonne LeDizes (soloist at the Intercontemporary Orchestra P. Boulez in Paris), and Genevieve Simonot (lead violin at the Paris Opera house Orchestra).
Now with almost 40 years experience (25 years teaching violin alone), Catherine has settled in Australia where she runs her own Music Conservatoire. Catherine delivers a uniquely tailored lesson plan to suit all ages from 3yo to seniors. Her methods incorporates classical technique & posture, advanced fingering, reading sheet music as well as exam preparations. Method coaching is available for advanced students and teachers.
