This violin course is designed for beginners and intermediate students, and aims to develop the essential technical and musical skills for playing smoothly and expressively. The program includes learning the fundamentals of violin playing, such as correct posture, grip, and producing a clear tone. You'll work on scales and arpeggios to develop your dexterity, as well as bowing techniques to master different stroke patterns. Sheet music reading, musical analysis, and music theory practice are integrated into the course to strengthen your theoretical knowledge and music-reading skills. Alongside this, you'll explore a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical works to more contemporary pieces, and will have the opportunity to work in a group to improve your listening and coordination with other musicians. Hi! I'm a French violinist currently in my 4th year of a classical violin Bachelor at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, and I hold a DEM (Diplôme d'Études Musicales) from the CRR de Paris (Regional Paris conservatory) where I studied with Florin Szigeti. I’ve had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with Josef Spacek, Pavel Vernikov, Olivier Charlier, Igor Volochine, Marianne Piketty, and I love sharing everything I’ve learned from them through my own teaching. I have experience with Orchestra and chamber music as well. I had the pleasure of participating in a side by side project with the Orchestre Philarmonique de Radio France and play in various prestigious settings. I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam). I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I teach students of all ages and levels. I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools/muziekacademies). Music lessons are a space to learn and experience meaningful connections amongst individuals through discussing musical material as a means of expression and thoughtfulness. In the individual lessons we discuss possibilities of thinking about sounds and ways of bringing sounds to life in different ways. Violin lessons are in particular a great way of exploring the connectedness of the thought, feelings, and body through learning the instrument as well as reading music. In each lesson, we discuss ways of developing a better understanding of this connection using different methods; the methods used for each student can vary according to their needs. As a result, students will be able to play different music on the violin and improvise on the instrument. In music theory, ear training, and composition lessons we delve into the basics of music theory in Western Classical tradition, the history of it, and look at some examples as well as practical exercises for a better understanding of the material. Through the process of learning, we will explore different ways of implementing different theoretical aspects of the sound in creative practice.
