The short biography about me:
In 2014 I enrolled to the Donetsk College of Music, and in 2015- transferred to the Kharkiv College of Music.
In September, 2018 I enrolled to the Kharkiv National University of Arts (bachelor’s degree).
In 2019 I started to work in the Kharkiv youth symphony orchestra "Slobozhansky”.
From 2018 until 2021, I worked in the Kharkiv Children's Music School as a flute teacher.
In 2019 I successfully passed an audition for the program for students ERASMUS+, and in 2021, I began my study’s as an Erasmus student in the Higher Conservatory of Music Vigo,Spain.
During the time of study in CSMV, I also participated in the master class of Albert Mora (the soloist of the Teatro de Liceu, Barcelona).
In December 2021, I took a part as a flutist with the “OrchestraVigo 430” in the Galician opera “Maria Soliña”.
In June, 2022 I graduated my bachelor’s degree in the National University of Arts named I.P.Kotlyarevsky - Kharkiv, Ukraine.
In August, 2022 I enrolled to the Michel Plasson Summer Academy for musicians in Poilhes, France.
During my studies at the Michel Plasson Summer Academy I had lessons with Vincent Prats (principal flute of the Philarmonie de Paris).
In September, 2022 I enrolled to the Kharkiv National University of Arts (master’s degree).
In October 2022 - Internship. Vigo, Spain.
In October 2022 - Master classes, as a listener, of a famous flutists as a J. Choi; S. Careddu; M. Demin; P. Bernold; E. Pahud.

My name is Matteo and I am an Italian flutist and musicologist, based in Brussels since 2010. I graduated in modern flute at 'B. Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well.

I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music.

From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels.

I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019).

I regularly play with leading ensembles and orchestras such as Millennium Orchestra (Leonardo Garcia Alarcon), Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Les Muffatti (Peter van Heyghen), Coro & Orchestra Ghislieri (Giulio Prandi), Le Concert d'Anvers (Bart van Reyn), B.O.X. This class is for students of any age who wish to learn the transverse flute.

Learning an instrument takes time and commitment, but it's hugely rewarding - and it doesn't have to be boring! I have experience teaching students of all age and levels and I specialise in tailoring my teaching to meet the individual needs of each student.

Beginner flute lessons are suitable for students learning from scratch or those already playing up to about ABRSM Grade 2 level. In beginner flute lessons, you will learn the fundamentals of making a sound and play your first notes, as well as the basics of reading music. As lessons progress, you will learn your first short pieces and maybe even prepare for graded exams.

Intermediate lessons are suitable for students already playing at about ABRSM Grade 3 to Grade 5 levels. In these lessons, you will build on what you already know to expand your abilities on the flute. You will learn more about different musical styles and techniques and develop more confidence to express yourself through music.

Advanced lessons are for students already playing at about ABRSM Grade 6 and beyond. Depending on each student, lessons could involve growing more skills to take the advanced grade or diploma exams exams through to learning the skills to put together a recital programme or prepare for a music college audition. There is wide scope in these lessons to focus on your areas of interest, while still keeping an eye on the solid foundations of good flute technique and musicianship.
