In this class, you will delve into the world of scales, exploring the unique characteristics of Western and Oriental scales. We will study the following scales:

Rast, Bayet, Siga, Kord, Hijaz, Ajam, Nahawand- Major & Minor Scales. In addition to these Western and Oriental scales, we will also introduce you to the quarter note, which is not traditionally found in Western music. It is a quarter note with a unique and distinct sound.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced musician, this class will provide you with the knowledge you need to use scales effectively for improvisation, singing, and playing any instrument.

With this knowledge, you will be able to:

Hello! I've been teaching nonstop for over 10 years, and I'd love to tell you what a class with me offers:

I've taught many topics, from the basics of reading music, college level ear-training, Renaissance and Baroque counterpoint, Classical harmonic analysis, Jazz harmony, and 20th century techniques.

About me
I obtained a Grade 8 diploma in Music Theory and also a Grade 8 Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I hold a diploma in Audio Engineering from Hofa College. I am active as a music artist and producer myself. Thanks to this combination of classical training and practical experience, I know how important it is to make theory understandable, concrete, and musical. I use my own piano during lessons to clarify everything visually and audibly.

Hello! My name is Fyllenia, and I am a professional harpist based in Denmark. I have studied music in Greece, the Netherlands, and Sweden, and have performed as both a soloist and orchestral musician in several European countries. I hold a Master of Music degree from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and have received first and second prizes in international music competitions.
For the past three years, I have been teaching harp to students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to more experienced players.
