Saxophone or Clarinet Lessons Catered To Your Interests
From 69.21 C$ /h
Whether you're a beginner, an advanced player, or just playing for fun, I structure lessons around the students' own abilities and what they want to achieve. I encourage learning to play in various genres, improvisation, and working with theory too should the student wish to.
Music is such a creative and therapeutic skill to have; I believe it is a shared learning experience that everyone should have the chance to develop, in a fun and supportive environment, where the student has just as much say as the tutor.

About Me
I am a Bristol-based Clarinettist/Saxophonist/Singer/Composer. I began playing at the age of 8 and have since gone on to perform as a soloist, and in various ensembles, in the Bristol/Lancaster/Huddersfield areas. I love to perform, and teaching others to achieve their full potential with their chosen instrument(s), whilst having fun, is such a joy!
Having played in various ensembles, I have a wide repertoire of music through Classical, Jazz, and Contemporary genres. I also received the Huddersfield University 2014 Woodwind Prize for my performance ability and involvement at the university.
In recent years, I received a Masters from Bristol University in Composition for Film and Television and have been writing music for the saxophone and clarinet, as well as other instruments, for both commercial purposes and my own.

Experience / Qualifications
I have been taught by a number of tutors over the years: Ben Waghorn, Paul Stinchcombe, Quita Colston, John Woodhouse, Sarah Markham, and most recently Joel Purnell, and am able to incorporate elements of the way they teach with the way I found comfortable learning.
During my time at school and university, I was participating in and leading ensembles, both large and small. By having a diverse knowledge of genres and learning environments, this experience helps my ability to teach others.
I have been teaching for almost seven years now, with students from the ages of 11 - 80 who I feel privileged to have been able to help. I am so proud of the progress they make and the enthusiasm they bring each week. It is a fantastic experience that I will continue to learn from for years to come.
