Welcome!
I am a qualified piano and music teacher (Qualified Teacher Status in both England and Scotland) based in London. I am specialized in Music Education is a recent graduate from the MA in Music Education at the Institute of Education (University College London), prior to which I completed a first-class honors BMus and MMus in Musicology and Music Education (Integrated) as well as Diplomas in Harmony, Counterpoint and Piano Performance all with Distinction in Greece.
- About me -
My musical and academic studies, as well as my teaching experience, have only promoted the desire to continue my professional development and teaching experience including new ways of learning music, exploring creativity and imagination, cultivating trust, playing piano while enjoying and exploring and experimenting with new teaching ideas that can promote musical engagement.
- Method -
My lessons will always be tailored to suit the needs of the individual or group. I like to teach in a relaxed, encouraging and open-minded style, with an emphasis on inspiring and developing a love and appreciation for music whilst also setting clear and achievable goals designed individually for each student.
I am highly experienced in preparing and entering students for ABRSM exams, both practice, and music theory (Grades 1- 5) though I am equally happy to teach those who are not interested in taking exams. Special focus is being given to technical exercises and warm-ups, scales, arpeggios, sightreading and Aural awareness practice.
As teaching is the most important part of my career I am committed to continually developing both my performing and my teaching skills. Communicating your passion for music to young people is the greatest opportunity for a musician to create and bring out the best in others.
If you are interested in piano/music theory lessons with either face-to-face or online via Zoom or Skype, please don't hesitate to contact me so we can find the best possible time for lessons.
Looking forward to meeting you!
