Piano Lessons in Bebek, Istanbul – Children & Adults
With 15 years of teaching experience, I offer individual piano lessons for children from age 3, as well as teenagers and adults, at Poco Piano, a boutique music studio located in Bebek, Istanbul.
Lessons are individually planned according to each student's age, level, learning pace and musical goals. My approach combines classical piano training with music theory, sight-reading, ear training and musicianship, creating a strong musical foundation rather than focusing only on learning individual pieces.
For young beginners (ages 3–6), lessons are adapted to the child's attention span and developmental stage. The first goal is to build a positive relationship with the instrument and teacher while gradually introducing rhythm, pitch, keyboard orientation and basic musical concepts.
For school-age students, teenagers and adults, lessons may include classical repertoire, technique, sight-reading, music theory and preparation for internationally recognised music examinations.
ABRSM & LCME Exam Preparation
I provide preparation for ABRSM and London College of Music (LCME) practical and theory examinations. Lessons can include repertoire preparation, technical work, sight-reading, aural skills and music theory according to the student's level and examination requirements.
Conservatory & Music Theory Support
Academic support is also available for students who need help with solfège, music theory, harmony or conservatory-related coursework.

About Me
I am a musician and music educator with a strong classical and academic background and 15 years of teaching experience. I am the founder of Poco Piano, a boutique music studio in Bebek, Istanbul, where I work with children, teenagers and adults.
As a teacher, I value patience, consistency and individual attention. I believe that every student develops differently, so I adapt my teaching to each student's age, personality, learning pace and musical goals.
My aim is not only to teach students how to play an instrument, but also to help them understand music, develop confidence and build a lasting relationship with it. I especially enjoy working with young children and creating a positive first experience with music, while also supporting more advanced students in developing independence and musical understanding.
My own background as a bassoonist and my academic studies in ethnomusicology have shaped a broad approach to music education that goes beyond instrumental technique.
I teach in both Turkish and English and enjoy working with students from different cultural and educational backgrounds.

Experience / Qualifications
I have 15 years of teaching experience, working with children from early childhood through school age, as well as teenagers and adult students at different levels.
I graduated from Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, where I studied Bassoon, and completed my Master’s Degree in Ethnomusicology at Istanbul Technical University, Center for Advanced Studies in Music (İTÜ MİAM).
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught piano, bassoon, music theory, solfège, ear training and harmony, working with both complete beginners and students following more advanced or academically oriented music programmes.
I have extensive experience teaching young children. In early music and piano education, I incorporate elements of the Orff approach, including rhythm, movement, listening and musical games, adapting lessons to each child's age, attention span and individual learning pace.
I prepare students for ABRSM and LCME practical and theory examinations and provide academic support for conservatory students, including music theory, solfège, harmony and entrance-examination preparation.
I also work with adult beginners and returning musicians, adapting the programme to their individual musical interests, previous experience and goals.
My teaching combines instrumental training with music theory, sight-reading, ear training and musicianship, with an emphasis on building a strong and independent musical foundation.
Lessons can be conducted entirely in English.
