Music Theory for beginners. Experienced teacher and trained musician offering online ABRSM Music Theory lessons.
From 49.89 C$ /h
I specialise in teaching people who have little or no music theory knowledge. Trying to learn to read music can often feel like a daunting or time consuming uphill struggle. I break everything down into simple to understand manageable memorable chunks and take your own learning style into account.
I follow and adapt the industry leading ABRSM Grade courses which I have extensive experience in. I have taken these exams myself, run exam course centres and taught the syllabus for many years.
I teach via an platform which allows both student and teacher to notate live on the same document. The pace is set to meet the needs of the student who is encouraged to give regular feedback on how they think classes are going.
As a music scholar at King's School Gloucester I served as a chorister at Gloucester Cathedral from 1996-2003 where I also learned the piano and the cello. I continue to use my music skills as a professional actor both on film, for example as cello player Charles Morel in On Chesil Beach, and in the theatre.
At this time I am only able to offer online classes due to government advice since the outbreak of COVID-19. I'm therefore only offering music theory classes at present. I believe online session will be a productive way of exploring music theory.
