The class is designed to suit the student's individual needs, pre-existing skills and learning pace. Through a series of exercises and studies as well as through problem-solving the student will be encouraged to achieve their desired goals.

Viola, bow and music stand are essential.
There will be a list of suggested learning material, but my approach is flexible and will include any already owned sheet music.

About Me

Hello,
I grew up in four countries and have found music to be the language I am most keen on expressing myself in. I want to give that feeling to my students. I have a friendly and calm approach and believe strongly in the power of a positive mindset. The viola will always be looked at in the context of the whole body and mind, as it is the whole body that does the music and the viola is just there to translate it into a language we all can understand.
I am also a keen woodworker and gardener, interested in sports and psychology.

Would you like to learn to play the violin or viola or would you like to get back on track?

I, who studied violin at the Hochschule für Musik Münster and the Hochschule für Künste Bremen, give professional individual and group lessons for beginners and advanced, for motivated and interested people aged 6-99 years who enjoy music.
Whether you need classical music, pop, ear training or music theory, there is something for everyone in the individually tailored teaching format. Depending on age and needs, 30-60 minutes.
Upon special request, an introduction to / intensification of historical performance practice.

I also give lessons during Corona, whether with mask and distance or online, both are possible.

I offer classes for children and adults of all ages.

My name is Isabel Soteras, I am 30 years old and live in Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany). I completed a bachelor's degree in music education in Barcelona, my native city, and completed my master's degree in early music at the Freiburg University of Music two years ago. Since then I have been working as a freelance musician.

My diverse teaching experience has shown that I enjoy teaching both children and adults a lot. It is important to me to lead musicians to success through my pedagogical and professional skills and to motivate them through constructive feedback.
