My ultimate goal is to let people enjoy playing the piano. In my classes, the focus is less on the competitive side of piano, but it is rather about the music we can create together. After going to the music academy with a rather strict, school-like approach, I prefer to make my classes instructive, but without comprising the joy of playing piano.

I learned to play the piano with the books of Folk Dean, so I will use them in my classes too. These books are for beginners, people who don't know anything about piano at all. Most of the student I have now are beginners. I will teach amongst other things how you play with the right posture, how to read notes, how to create musicality... I will give you a solid basis for a pianist. I will also teach you the solfège that you need to know. There's no prior knowledge required for this class.

About Me

I am a 23 year old psychology student. I have been playing the piano since I was ten. I always had to learn songs from music sheets at the music academy, which has reduced my motivation to play the piano. You practice for a long time and once you can play it perfectly, you have to immediately switch to another sheet and repeat the whole process.
That's why I started improvising, and now I play my own songs. I would like to share this knowledge with others. I can give piano lessons to people who already have piano knowledge (but would also like to learn to improvise) and to beginners. If desired, I can also give basic music theory to beginners.

Education

I have studied music and piano at the musicacademy of Geel since I was ten. I learned classical piano pieces and also played together with a partner so that we sat at the piano with 2, and in the last year of my education, there was a new option to choose (it was called 'begeleidingspraktijk', I don't know how to translate that) and I did it for a year and there I learned a lot for my improvisations.

I have been playing the piano for 11 years, and have also had music theory, so I can also teach music theory too if desired. Of those 11 years, I have been fully concentrated on improvisation for the last 3 years.

Piano and improvisation lessons (also without note knowledge)

I've been playing the piano since I was 10. But at the music academy I learned piano in a very scholastic way. We always had to learn scores, which you spend a lot of time on, and once you could do it perfectly, you already had to switch to another piece. I got tired of this and started improvising. I now make my own songs and I prefer to play the piano more than ever before. I would like to share this with other people as well. I do this in combination with solfège, so that everyone has the basics. The lessons consist of 70-80% solfège and piano pieces (I work with piano books) and then we conclude with 20-30% improvisation. Improvisation is experienced by all my students as the most enjoyable part of the lesson.

As a pianist and teacher, I have years of teaching experience at private and public schools throughout Croatia.
My main music education and training I got in Zagreb (Croatia) and Vienna (Austria). In 2020 I graduated in the discipline of the piano as 'Master in music' at the ‘Academy of Music’ in Zagreb.

I am familiar with performing the classical repertoire as well as modern 20th and 21st-century music. In 2020 I had been selected as a pianist to represent the composition of Belgian composer Gillis Sacré at a composition competition in Vienna.
In 2016 I took part in a euphony project and performed on a concert tour in Slovenia, Hungary, Austria and Croatia.

Later I further developed myself on numerous piano and chamber music masterclasses with pedagogues Ruben Dalibaltayan, Vera Vaidman, Andrea Padova, Ratko Delorko, Đuro Tikvica among others.

Between 2019 and 2022 I was connected as a professor at the ‘Ivan Matetić Ronjgov’ music school at the department on the island of Rab in Croatia.

I can help you! I've been playing piano for about 15 years now after studying Pop & Jazz, and I've performed in a variety of genres. I also have a diploma in Electronic Music Production from Point Blank Music School, and I'm currently working as a keyboardist and producer for the pop group. I primarily play pop music, but we can certainly explore other genres as well.

For piano lessons, I recommend 30 minutes so we can cover new topics each lesson, which you can then practice at home. For producing/mixing, 60 minutes is more suitable if you want to master it faster, but you can certainly learn it in 30 minutes per lesson.

My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels.

For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that!
Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;)

I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example.

The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.
