I am a professional classical guitarist offering private classical guitar and theory lessons to students of all levels. As a guitarist with years of teaching experience 13 years of playing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary.
My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music. If the student is interested in a more formal approach, I can also guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. My students and I develop a really positive relationship.
My educations degrees are the following: I have obtained two Master's degrees at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (Lisbon), in Guitar Performance and Guitar Education. Prior to this, I received my Bachelor’s in Guitar Performance from Guildhall School of Music & Drama (London). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and as an accompanist.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:

I am a professional musician and have been teaching students of all ages for over 20 years. My experience as a teacher and my pursuit of self-improvement as a musician have led me to develop an effective method that I have already tested with over a hundred students.

This class is designed for conservatory students, private candidates and advanced musicians who need solid guidance in harmony, counterpoint and fugue, especially in preparation for exams and auditions.

We work on written exercises, stylistic correction and analytical understanding, with a clear method and step-by-step feedback.
