About Me

As a classically trained guitarist, I have a broad musical interest and knowledge and background. This way I can immerse myself in and find myself in the various tastes of my students, for so many different music genres. My interest in music has been present in me from an early age, and I completely focus the lessons on the students goals.
My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and as an accompanist.

Two Master's degrees at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (Lisbon), in Guitar Performance and Guitar Education. Prior to this, I received my Bachelor’s in Guitar Performance from Guildhall School of Music & Drama (London).

As a guitarist with years of teaching experience 13 years of playing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary.
My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music. If the student is interested in a more formal approach, I can also guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. My students and I develop a really positive relationship.

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:
