I am a professional violin, performer, recording artist, pianist and singer with 36 years experience on my instruments and 25 years experience as a music teacher. I am passionate about giving students an excellent technical foundation, a deep understanding of musical expression and beauty as well as a balanced and sustainable approach to practicing so as to instill a lifelong love of the instrument.
My styles range from classical, of which I studied through conservatory on violin, rock music, pop, electronica and original songwriting composition. Students will learn the fundamentals of their instrument thoroughly, will develop a deep appreciation for their own ability to excel and persevere as well as an approach to life through music which values discipline, self love, imagination and empowerment.

About Me
Violin was my first language and has been my greatest ally and superpower. I am deeply inspired by the spark in my student's eyes when they discover their own innate ability to master the instrument. Studying the violin and it's gorgeous literature provides one of the most intricate, empowering and life-long crafts to everyone who plays. I first fell in love when I was extremely young and began lessons when I was 4. I trained classically with teachers who trace back to Ivan Galamian and pursued a Violin Performance degree at University of MIchigan. I am an established recording artist, composer and bandleader and perform in the rock, metal and electronica realms as well as any other genre required. I am also a trained pianist and singer. The most important aspect of teaching is to instill a sense of confidence in one's own ability to learn and to persevere past difficulties. Because of the intense nature of the instrument, I spend concerted effort tailoring my lessons to each student's individual learning style. I begin with a firm foundation in proper violin technique, music reading and theory. The gold is when we discover the emotional nature of the music and how to express as unique players. Often in the classical world we can get stuck inside of a box. I have found that a strong footing in classical music can in fact launch musicians into an expansive career in whatever genre they prefer, if we are open to all possibilities. With this in mind I also teach improvisation from a young age as to strengthen playing from both brain hemispheres. A holistic approach in learning music can provide extremely powerful support to awaken the inner musical genius within everyone.
Education

Have recorded on countless records. Founder, frontwoman, violinist, singer and songwriter for KnightressM1. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

At my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams. I will give all my best so everybody will get the tools for developing their own voice, helping them to master the instrument and teaching them all the theoretical knowledge they’ll need to make their particular personality shine. Openness, joy, dedication, creativity and passion for music are some of the things that you will find in the international environment of my studio. I care about who my students are and what they have to say to the world, and I will help them to develop it from the very first lesson.

In my class you will not only be able to receive piano lessons but also will learn to understand how the music works as a language. If the interest and the profile of the student goes in the direction of the purely classical music performance, the lessons will be focused on a deep and conscious piano technique development, practicing techniques, musical interpretation, history of music, history of the piano, applied harmony on the keyboard, analysis, and score reading by a method that I have developed for over 15 years of experience. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. All this is aiming to achieve in a very practical and exciting experience the best results in the fastest way possible. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.

Hope you can join and if so, I’ll be very happy to teach you!

Have you ever wanted to learn to play the piano/keyboard but don't know where to start? Are you regretting giving up learning the piano/keyboard when you were younger? Do you feel that your current progress in playing the piano/keyboard is being held back?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes then please contact me. I always try to ensure that each individual student's interests are catered for. If you want to play for pleasure then I will encourage you to learn pieces that you like. Alternatively, if you are more interested in achievement, in terms of taking graded exams, then this is the pathway that we will take.
Enjoyment is the key to success as it leads to a desire to practise. So tayloring the class to your needs is absolutely essential and I am very keen to work with you to achieve this goal.

I offer piano lessons for adults and children, tailored to your goals and preferences. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes. Lessons are conducted in English, German and Russian. I teach piano at home in Vienna’s 3rd district and online on a beautiful Yamaha piano.

I have a full class of 13 students. Each semester, I organize a recital. If they wish, even my online students can take part through a live stream :)

I am an award-winning pianist in international competitions, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (BA), and currently a student at the Anton Bruckner University in Austria (MA).

I have developed my own teaching methodology, which varies depending on the student's age, skill level, and preferences. With extensive teaching experience for both adults and children, I have completed pedagogical practice and a piano teaching methodology course at the Moscow Conservatory. I teach beginners from scratch, prepare school students for exams, competitions, concerts, and entrance exams. Additionally, I teach solfeggio, music theory, ear training, rhythm development, hand positioning, and stage performance skills. I work on both classical repertoire and any pieces the student desires. I create custom arrangements for my students, including simplified versions of difficult pieces.

My online setup makes the lessons feel just like in-person: I use a tripod to demonstrate my hands and provide an online screen display for sheet music. After each lesson, I send video tutorials for clear, visual examples.

I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard.

My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student.

Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you.

A bit about me:

Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.

This class is designed for conservatory students, private candidates and advanced musicians who need solid guidance in harmony, counterpoint and fugue, especially in preparation for exams and auditions.

We work on written exercises, stylistic correction and analytical understanding, with a clear method and step-by-step feedback. Particular attention is given to Renaissance and Baroque practices (modal counterpoint, species, tonal counterpoint, fugue), helping students understand why rules exist, not just how to apply them.

I have many years of experience teaching harmony and counterpoint, and several of my students have successfully passed conservatory composition exams thanks to this guided approach.

Lessons are adapted to the student’s level and goals, with a strong focus on clarity, consistency and practical results.
