I studied International Tourism Management & Consultancy at the NHTV in Breda (now Breda University), of which 3 years in English. I followed a Spanish course in Spain in addition to the course at the college, at the Don Quijote institute in Valencia.
Once I lived in Guatemala I further improved my Spanish to a level C2.

Experience / Qualifications

I learned English from an early age. In high school I learned French for 6 years and German for 5 years. I started studying Spanish at college.
In Guatemala I worked for 5 years at a renowned language institute. I have assisted students of all nationalities with questions about language and culture. I also developed didactic material together with others and set up a collaboration with the Cervantes Institute in Spain. All this has ensured that I have a good basic knowledge of language teaching, and the different methodologies and levels.

I also worked as a country coordinator in Guatemala for an American volunteer agency, and I did several translation assignments from Spanish to English.

Today I have my own tourism business, where I am in daily contact with customers from all over the world. I communicate daily in 3 languages; Dutch, English and Spanish, both orally and in writing.
I have several certificates in the field of international tourism and sustainability.
