My teaching style tries to achieve an open and supportive environment for my students that encourages autonomous learning. This is achieved by incorporating open discussions and positively reinforcing creative and individual thinking. Talking to my students with inquisitive respect results in them feeling comfortable enough to explore tackling questions independently and encourages them to relate to each other with the same respect. I find that by focusing on engagement and student enjoyment, behavioural management is not as needed.
Extra information
These are to ensure I can both protect my business & keep teaching!
Please let me know of any future test or exam dates, this will help us keep on track.
Do you have homework that needs to be done?
Is there anything specific you don’t understand?
I will email further optional practise exercises after the session; if you’re able to do these, it will aid your learning.
Please ensure you have something to write on & write with, and bring what you usually use for that subject.
I often use Zoom for calling, and Microsoft Office (Word etc.) for documents, but can cater to other needs.
Every student will have access to their OneDrive folder with a record of progress throughout.
Don’t be afraid to share your ideas and think outside the box!
Discussions are always encouraged.
I try to keep sessions to the working week, but allowances may be made for exam time (as an example).
Every school is different, so please let me know in advance of any term, half-term, or holiday breaks that you wish to skip any sessions for.
Any cancellations within less than 24 hrs' notice will still be considered a paid-for session.
If you are late to a session without letting me know I will send a reminder after 5 mins but assume a no-show after 10 mins.
After 2 sessions missed with no communication, I will presume you no longer wish to continue.
A link will be provided for each student’s regular Zoom meeting, with a 24-hour reminder before each session.
