About Me

I had always been confident that my voice would work every time I needed it to, until one day in 2015, it failed. This was a defining event in my career and my life. It forced me to question everything I knew about vocal technique and I embarked on a journey of learning how our instrument works, to understand the what, how, and why of its mechanics. During this learning process, I realized that there are factors that have little or nothing to do with the voice and that directly affect it: our emotions. For years, I've dedicated myself to helping people work through their fears and ensuring that their emotions contribute to their vocal performance rather than limiting it. My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.
My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.

Whether your goal is personal or professional, speaking is a predominantly physical activity, relying on a body, a voice, a breath, a rhythm (diction) and an emotion (the imagination and the sensations, reflecting the involvement of the speaker in his speech.
