This course is for people who are working on building a visual arts/design portfolio and/or are looking for feedback/tips on artworks. You'll learn how to strategically organize a portfolio and how to best showcase your work.

I can also provide tips on how to use Adobe programs (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator) to enhance both traditional and digital art. In terms of enhancing the portfolio as a whole, this course will also teach you what can be added to improve the overall quality. These tips can be applicable to a personal/academic portfolio, or even the AP Visual Arts Portfolio.

About Me
Hey! My name is Marlo and I'm from Toronto, Canada, but am currently living in Ottawa! In my free time, I enjoy reading, learning about geography, and traveling - even if it's just around the city. My favourite author is Jules Verne, but my favourite book is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
Education
I'm a second year architecture student at Carleton University in Ottawa, and am studying architecture related to conservation and sustainability!

I took Advanced Placement courses in high school (AP English, AP Literature, and AP Visual Arts) and was able to pass the AP exams and portfolio assessment! Not only that, but my strengths in English and art courses have helped me earn subject awards, such as the Writer's Craft award and the AP Visual Arts award.
Experience / Qualifications
I have never tutored students academically, but I have tons of experience teaching a variety of content. This content ranges from teaching karate to students of all ages at a dojo to teaching debate and conference procedure (as well as essay writing) as the president of the Model United Nations club in high school.

With these experiences came the ability to cater my teaching style and speed to different people! Although the lessons will vary from person to person, I will create a list of goals that align with the student's abilities and comfort level.

More than a million high school students from around the world train for and take the College Board's Advanced Placement exams each year. Qualifying AP Exam scores allow students to earn university-level credits in almost all universities in the USA and in Canada.

This course provides sample prompts and readings that have been featured on past AP English Lit. and Composition exams. You'll learn how to recognize the difference between each score and what is required for each, how to approach different prompts and multiple choice questions, and how to time manage in a stressful examination setting!

These sessions allow the development of skills and knowledge of the trade, with the game facing the camera, familiarization with the audiovisual environment and the camera tool, in the art of acting.

Your inventiveness and your uniqueness being at the center of your training, it is a question of dwelling on the objective criteria, such as the voice, the use of the body, the relationship with the partner, the capacity to occupy the space. But it is also the singularity and the commitment that are decisive.

The objective of this training is to be able to:

- Analyze and dissect a text
- Create, develop and embody a character
- Understand the artistic and technical writings of a film or a play
- Create, cultivate and develop one's artistic identity and singularity

(...)

Through simulations and role-playing, the association between theory and practice makes it possible to achieve its objectives.

PLACES :
- Locations: Geneva - Lausanne - Friborg - Neuchâtel - Montreux - Basel - Sion - Sierre - Morges - Bienne. But currently and until further notice, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid.

These sessions, for which you have asked me, also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). Indeed, they have the advantage of face-to-face sessions (ex: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time) with additional advantages (ex: the entire session transcribed in writing on the chat). That is why, at your request, I continue to offer this option.
- As other people do regularly, you can also please your loved ones by offering gift vouchers available all year round.

Do you want to learn the basics of drawing? Or are you already past that level? Do you want to draw on paper (with pencils) or on a screen? Do you want to learn the basics of 2D animation? All for a very reasonable price? We can do it!

Nice to meet you, I'm Daniel. I'm a (private) art teacher, I'm also a freelance artist and have been working as one for about 7 years. I'm looking for students in Utrecht, I have a teaching space available in my apartment (I can share my address when you contact me), but am also able to travel to your desired space within the city.
I can also teach via webcam, but I do recommend my in-person classes, seeing as they're more immersive and educational.

I unfortunately do not speak Dutch (yet), but am confident we can overcome any potential language barrier we come across.

I have the most experience in teaching teenagers and preteens, so I think we would definitely be a good match if you're a parent or guardian looking for a teacher for your child.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer with fifteen years of experience. I studied art and architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Columbia University in New York. I teach painting, drawing, digital image and creativity. This class is ideal for beginners but also intermediate students who want to develop their own style.

For my personal projects, I work in a wide range of mediums, from drawing, painting and printmaking to digital image and 3D Printing. When teaching, I prefer to first focus on free-hand drawing and painting as this allows for greater spontaneity regardless of the student's technical level. We later explore other methods based on the student's individual interests. I like to teach children and adults via mini projects involving art history references and help them develop narratives around their work. I deeply believe in people's creative potential and in my classes will help you channel your own voice.

Would you like to be able to illustrate the worlds and stories you imagine?

Do you want to learn how to create characters for a video game, animation, children's story, comic or in any format? Or would you like to be able to draw your favorite characters?

If you have those concerns, I would love to help you.

I like to focus the classes in such a way that the current drawing level of the student is not what is important. The room for improvement will always evolve. I like to take my classes towards character design, towards general things like the psychology of color and shapes, since they are assimilable and highly useful concepts, independent of the level of drawing. For this reason, my classes are aimed at all ages and drawing levels.

I also try to focus them on the preferences and tastes of each student, showing them that everything they like, they like for a reason, that nothing is left to chance and that they can also understand how to make their drawings reflect what they want to convey. Even to create your portfolios or visual information for your own project or story.

I give private classes with students from different parts of the world, so many of my classes I have been able to do in both English and French.

I studied 2D animation in France, and thanks to this training, my work has been nourished by dynamism, storytelling, expressiveness, typical of this medium, as well as the sensitivity for color and shapes that I usually use to infuse a unique style both to my original designs as well as my fanarts.

Photoshop is a powerful app for photographers. As a photographer, you’ll need to be able to sort through the many complex features that will help make photos better. I’ve designed this course as a practical guide to Photoshop that’s specifically made for learning photographers.

You will learn how to make selections, create masks, retouching portraits and use advanced techniques to not only improve photographs, but to turn them into entirely new images.

I work as a 3D generalist for cinema and/or video games, with a specialization in 3D Layout/Préviz.

During our courses, I will teach you the techniques to create your own illustrations/projects, and allow you to discover if not improve your skills in the world of 3D.
As examples, we will learn how to use software such as Blender, 3dsMAx, Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance Painter, and many others.

I am very attentive, a teacher and I will be able to guide you and support you step by step on your desires for achievements, whether for beginners who want to discover this field, up to students who need to learn to master new skills.

My classes take place as follows:
You tell me what you would like to achieve, and we will achieve it together, otherwise I will offer you a project to create in line with your desires, while taking care to explore enough aspects to prepare you for the profession.

Looking forward to meeting you, and I hope, see you soon!

I teach digital painting with a focus on clarity, structure, and outcome. You’ll learn how to control digital brushes, build convincing lighting, use color intentionally, and create textures that add depth. We’ll move from the basics of composition to the challenges of designing characters, surreal environments, and expressive scenes.

By the end, you’ll produce portfolio-ready artworks and understand a professional workflow from sketch to finish. Each session combines hands-on exercises with discussion of artistic choices, so you strengthen both technical skill and creative judgment.

This course is for beginners and intermediate artists who want to go beyond tutorials and actually build a body of polished, original work.

Get ready for creativity, giggles, and a whole lot of colorful mess! I’m starting a super fun arts & crafts class just for kids where imagination runs wild and every project feels like an adventure. We’ll paint, glue, cut, sprinkle glitter, and turn everyday ideas into awesome creations kids will be excited to show off.

This class is all about exploring, trying new things, building confidence, and having FUN while we create. No pressure to be “perfect,” just a welcoming space where little artists can express themselves, make friends, and leave with big smiles (and maybe a little paint on their sleeves 🤭).
