Trusted teacher: Boost Your Confidence in English with a Passionate Language Enthusiast Bonjour ! I was born in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, to a French father and Greek mother. I completed my school and university education in Lausanne, earning a certificate in Humanities with a focus on English Literature, History, and Political Sciences. After living and working in England for nearly 20 years, I can safely say that I have developed deep knowledge of English and a love for english culture. I now reside in Heraklion, Crete where I speak fluently Greek. My love for languages has always been a window into different cultures. With years of experience learning Latin, Greek, German, and English, and of course French I understand the importance of building a solid foundation in grammar, orthography, and vocabulary. However, I believe that speaking and reading are essential to truly mastering a foreign language — in a fun way and without fear of making mistakes. Also I am somebody that recognises that it is easier to learn language when we link it with the associated culture and teaching languages should be adapted to the needs of the person. I offer: Support for school students to improve their English and prepare for exams. Conversation sessions for more mature learners who want to gain confidence in speaking English naturally, learn informal language and colloquialisms (slang) and English culture. If you're ready to improve your English in a supportive and engaging environment, I’d be delighted to guide you.

Trusted teacher: Professional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself! The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults. We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique. -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his DIDACTIC MASTER in 2018 at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ” In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Trusted teacher: Prior to the SAT’s shift toward digital testing, I’d instructed over 100 students on all sections of not only the SAT, ACT, and PSAT, but also the HSPT, ISEE, and Chicago Selective Enrollment exam, primarily online but also in person. For the SAT and ACT (my specialties), I’d completed the 15 most recent officially released exams of each test and prepared explanations for my students. I knew the tests inside and out and had developed dozens of strategies for their questions. In addition to having perfect knowledge of and ability to teach the content on each exam, I’ve always been very gifted at standardized tests specifically. I’ve had an ability to see the right answer based purely on phrasing and context clues, without needing to deeply analyze the problem. Over the course of my years working with students, I’ve been able to identify and teach various red and green flags in questions that allow the test-taker to immediately and accurately eliminate or home in on answer choices. Due to my international background, I had several international students who had their first digital SAT in March 2023, a year earlier than domestic students. Wanting to teach them to the best of my ability and capitalize on this shift, I went through all of College Board's official practice materials several times, in addition to unofficial material from Manhattan Review, Kaplan, and others. I identified new trends on the digital SAT, was able to rework past (paper) official problems as supplementary material, and devise strategies for the exam. Though my educational background in regard to mathematics and English may be less impressive than some other tutors, I’m confident that for a given problem (especially in sections other than mathematics), none would be able to offer a student as in-depth of an explanation for a missed question with as many varied, consistent strategies to find the correct answer as I could.

I really recommend katja for your violin classes!!! She's a very good teacher. Katja has a rich background in music and is able to adapt the class according to the level of the student. Her explanations and corrections to evolve are concreet and very well done, which makes things easier to understand. She makes you love music and violin. She has a good time notion and makes the hour of the class efficient as she makes you work on different things. She's also a very nice person! Enjoy your class with katja :)
