Bring Out Your Musicality: Conservatorium van Amsterdam Master's Pianist, 5+ Years Teaching All Ages and LevelsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Every student's musical journey is different, and your lessons should be too. With more than 5 years of experience teaching piano to students of all levels (from complete beginners to advancing conservatory-track students and retired adults rediscovering music) lessons are built around your goals, pace and interests. Whether you're picking up the piano for the first time, preparing for conservatory entrance exams, or returning to the instrument after years away, each student finds a plan tailored to where they are and where they want to go. The first lesson is about getting to know each other: understanding your current level, your goals, and what excites you musically, so a clear and realistic plan can be built from day one. From there, practice is kept structured and achievable; with concrete, doable goals between lessons, as well as different tools and materials provided along the way. Lessons can take place at my home or, if preferred, at your own address. As a teacher, I try to stay flexible to what my students want to explore: I find pupils are often passionate about all kinds of genres, and while my own training is classical, I'm just as happy helping a student work on jazz standards and improvisation if that's what excites them, alongside more traditional repertoire. English for everyone: homework help and academic support, learning or improvement courses, whatever your levelTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hello! My name is Najwa. Originally from Canada, where I lived and studied in English and French, I recently moved to Belgium. I am comfortable using both languages on a daily basis, which allows me to explain concepts clearly, whether in pure English or by using comparisons with French when necessary. With a degree in social work (UQAM), I have extensive experience in providing support, whether it be tutoring children with schoolwork and homework help, or helping them learn English. I know how to adapt my approach to each individual: patience, active listening, and effective teaching methods are at the heart of my teaching style. I offer English lessons for all ages and levels: -Beginners who want to lay a solid foundation -Students receiving academic support (homework, exam preparation) -Adult language development courses (conversation, speaking confidence, professional English) My courses take place exclusively online. My goal: for you to progress at your own pace, in a relaxed and non-judgmental atmosphere. I adapt to your needs and objectives, whether it's passing an exam, preparing for a trip, or simply gaining confidence. Feel free to contact me to discuss your goals!

Zooanthropology, or On Becoming Cultural with Non-human AnimalsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Zooanthropology, or On Becoming Cultural with Non-human AnimalsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

What if human culture is not exclusively human? Zooanthropology, or On Becoming Cultural with Non-human Animals is an introductory 10-lesson course exploring the relationship between humans and other animals and asking a fundamental question: how much of what we call “culture” has actually emerged through our relationships with other species? The course offers a different perspective. Rather than considering culture an exclusively human achievement, zooanthropology understands it as something that has emerged through relationships, encounters and exchanges between species. Other animals are not simply objects of human knowledge or resources for human development: they are subjects who have influenced, shaped and transformed us. This perspective invites us to reconsider our own position in the world and to question some deeply rooted assumptions about the supposed boundary between humans and other animals. It also encourages us to decentre our perspective and to become more attentive to forms of intelligence, communication, emotion, learning and relationship that do not seem to resemble our own. The course is transdisciplinary, drawing on anthropology, philosophy, ethology and other fields. Along the way, you will encounter concepts such as intersubjectivity, epiphany, hybridisation and epimelesis, among many others. But don't be intimidated by the terminology! No previous knowledge of anthropology, philosophy, ethology or zooanthropology is required. What the course does require is curiosity, an interest in human–nonhuman animal relations, and a willingness to question some familiar ideas and look at the world from a less anthropocentric perspective. Slides and a bibliography will be provided.
