• Conservatory graduate and gold medalist at Dante Agostini School. Today, I pass on my knowledge in a particular lesson without age, level or musical aesthetics (you can bring your own songs).

• When I teach what matters to me is to nurture a common passion, to see students happy with their success and happy with their progress. As and when they become confident and relaxed.

• My experience of the stage will open you to the art of accompanying a band and putting themselves forward.

• Classes take place in the Marshland school (near the Republique metro) equipped with all the equipment to have fun (acoustic drums, bass and / or guitar to play together, support and learning software. .)

course
I have also accompanied students in a punctual approach such as the preparation of an audition or a studio session as well as in complete training.
I have also worked on music groups and workshops for different structures.

Methodology
Self-taught musician, I propose a teaching based on listening and creation. It is the envy of reproduction and musical creation that has always pushed me to work several instruments, in all musical styles, for over 25 years, to professionalize one: the battery.
I wish to transmit this method, non-institutional, based on the rhythm of your desires.
This announcement is for all levels, complement or complete training, I adapt to each student.

Curriculum vitae
My various professional experiences in different professions of music (sound engineer, performer, composer ..), on stage or in studio, allow me to approach differently the pedagogy of the instrument and to bring you a more complete teaching.
My passion, for thirty years already, allows me to simply transmit the desire to work.

Technique and Lineage
My technical approach is rooted in the rebound-based methods passed down through the Murray Spivack tradition. I was taught by drummers who themselves trained in this lineage—helping you develop relaxed control, endurance, and tone.

Music as a Language
I teach music the way we naturally learn language: by listening and speaking before reading and writing. You’ll learn to feel rhythm, internalise timing, and express yourself on the drums. Reading and writing music are absolutely taught—but always in the right context, as tools to deepen your fluency and independence.

About Me
I'm an experienced educator and former professional drummer, passionate about helping others find their voice on the kit. I've taught students of all ages and backgrounds, and I believe music should be both serious and joyful.

Easy to Reach
The studio is in Paris 19ème, near [insert nearby métro stop if helpful], and easy to reach by public transport.

Flexible Scheduling
We’ll find times that work for you—daytime, evening, or weekend.

Tabla is an Indian Drum. I teach traditional style to beginners to advanced level students.
I am a Ph.D holder in Tabla and I am a disciple of Ustad Ilmas Husain Khan of Lucknow Tabla Gharana and I was tabla teacher in University of Visual and Performing Arts in Sri Lanka .

Hello,

I like to transmit and exchange with my students.
Seeing them understand and progressing is essential and very rewarding for me.

My lessons are based on an academic method focused on learning music theory and instrumental practice.
I bring a specific method adapted to the profiles of my students (age, availability, tastes, motivation, "anti-music theory").
I try to make my students independent, help them develop their listening skills, their sense of rhythm and transmit to them an efficient working method.

All styles, all levels: pop, rock, funk, jazz, blues, soul, reggae, latin

PARIS BATTERY COURSE
Professional musician (graduate of imep) offering a student-based course.
Each student is different and deserves a pedagogy which is adapted to him so that he can progress at their own pace depending on the age and level. I orient my course towards awareness for the youngest, or more challenging courses for the more advanced.

All ages and levels.

The drums are an instrument that has become essential to many musical genres. It can be metamorphosed at will but does not produce melodies, its mission is to keep the tempo and to give power and / or groove to the orchestral ensemble. I will be there to teach you the basics, limb de-coordination and rhythmic ease and also help you find a personal approach to the instrument.

Dear students !

My name is Robert, I'm 26 yo and I come from Ghana.

I started playing drums when I was 9 yo. I was trained as a master drummer by two masters coming from the Volta region in Ghana. I first played in a cultural group from 2005 to 2012, during which I performed at parties, festivals. I also helped my two masters to teach drumming and dancing to partner students from US who were coming yearly to Ghana in 2011 and 2012.
In 2014, I started giving drumming lessons both to tourists staying at a lodge and to local students in a NGO school in my hometown.
In 2017, I joined a cultural group and performed at festivals, lodges, conferences, parties, weddings, business or company launching.

I can play teach:
- djembe
- dundun drum
- phalogo drum (hand drums)
- ewe set drum (stick drum)

If you wan to start learning or improve your drumming skills, do not hesitate to contact me.

All the best,

Robert

Body Percussion for Kids – Rhythm, Confidence, and Joy
These one-on-one body percussion classes offer kids a unique opportunity to explore rhythm using their own bodies—through clapping, stomping, snapping, and movement. Each session is a playful space to develop focus, body awareness, and nonverbal expression, while boosting self-confidence and feeling at home in their own skin.

There’s also the possibility of forming a group class with friends—creating music and movement together in a joyful, collaborative environment.

I offer drum lessons at home and in the studio within Paris.

A professional musician for 10 years, I have extensive experience on stage, in the studio, and teaching. (I have recorded over twenty albums and have toured extensively in France and internationally.)

In recent years I have focused on teaching drums, which is a passion of mine. For this reason, I decided to write my own method "the drum book", which has 3 volumes (about 300 pages), which I have continued to expand with the more than 60 students I have been lucky enough to have.

I could sum up my approach in three words: learn, have fun and work. The lessons are done in a good mood! The drums are a fun, rewarding and sometimes demanding instrument. I want to provide the richest possible teaching, based on my "drum book" method and the learning of pieces (chosen by the student if they wish).

You are in the right place if:

- You start the drums.
- One of your children wants to play the drums.
- Want to resume or continue classes.
- Your level ranges from beginner to advanced.

As a passionate, self-taught drummer, I offer drum lessons focused on practice, rhythmic understanding, and the joy of playing. We'll work on the fundamentals (tempo, coordination, independence), develop grooves, accompany songs, and provide personalized advice tailored to your musical style (rock, funk, hip-hop, etc.).

Classes for children, teenagers and adults.
I can travel to students' homes who have a drum kit or to music studios in Paris.

Let's play!

Without conservatory or other diploma(s), I developed a passion and an ear for music from a very young age.
Being self-taught allowed me to very quickly develop a curiosity for music in general, to play different instruments and to create several music groups, concerts, studio recordings, etc.

This drum course is for beginners of all ages, with or without prior musical experience.
The goal is clear: to lay solid foundations while having fun from the start.

The course is based on a constant balance between technique and musical performance. Technical exercises are always directly linked to specific pieces and grooves, in order to avoid a heavy or discouraging theoretical approach.

Particular attention is paid to the relationship between the body and the instrument:
good posture on the stool, relaxation, hand and finger position, coordination, balance and center of gravity.

These elements are essential for making effective progress, avoiding unnecessary tension, and developing a natural relationship with the drums.

Finally, I am primarily here for the student.
If the student has a clear idea of the direction in which they wish to go, I will be there to accompany them and help them achieve it.

I am not trying to impose a rigid teaching method: I adapt to the needs, pace and objectives of each individual.

What I do insist on, however, are the essential basics: good posture, the elimination of unnecessary tension in the body and a healthy way of playing.

For the rest, teaching is always built with the student, in the spirit of a pedagogy that has personally worked very well for me and that I now pass on with conviction.

Discover the joy of rhythm!

In my classes, you will learn the tabla as well as other percussion instruments – if you wish – in a friendly, dynamic, and motivating atmosphere. You will discover bols (rhythmic syllables), the different tāls (rhythmic cycles), hand coordination, playing precision, and the art of improvisation, all while developing your sense of rhythm and creativity.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced musician, each lesson is fully adapted to your level, your goals and your learning pace.

My goal is to transmit much more than a technique: I also want to share the joy of playing, the energy of rhythm and the richness of the Indian musical tradition, in a caring atmosphere where learning always remains a pleasure.

Courses available in French, English and Hindi, in Paris or online.
