About Me

I studied Classical Guitar at the University of Music in Basel. I did a Bachelor in Performance and a Master in Music Pedagogy. I play very often in solist or in chamber music for classical and contemporary projects. Teaching is a part of my artistic life as performing.

I'm an award-winning Canadian classical pianist and experienced teacher offering piano lessons for all levels, beginner to advanced. I have performed with orchestra and has a soloist in various festivals across Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland, in addition to being a prize winner in numerous competitions, as well as the recipient of numerous grants and awards.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Whether you are an adult or younger, did you know that with the proper methods, follow-up and advice, you can reach in 2 years the equivalent of what is achieved in 10 years in music school? The passion and pleasure of playing will quickly make you forget the minimum 1h30 of daily practice necessary for this beautiful and pleasant feat. This is the challenge I set myself by offering you these courses.

Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels).

My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing.

Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique.

The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible.

I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar.

Note: the practice of the classical guitar requires short nails on the left hand, and nails overflowing just beyond the tip of the finger, on the right hand, at all times. This allows an inimitable sound quality.

For any singing practice, whether variety singing (pop, rock) or opera singing, part of the singing course should ideally incorporate practical work on technique and vocal anatomy. I therefore propose to start by warming up the body and the voice, which allows you to connect to yourself, to your breath. Gradually, the intensity rises, we are therefore heated, and we can then approach the pieces that the student wishes to learn. Vocalization is for me a moment with oneself, a kind of mindfulness meditation. Singing causes a very enjoyable inner vibration. Sometimes I like to start with music that inspires the student and build technical work through that. The more the student is aware of his body and his breath, the more he will have control of his voice, and therefore, always more joy!
